Becoming an Engineer: The Average Person's Guide to Getting Good Grades and Succeeding in Engineering and STEM School Review: great for all aspiring - Bought this book after seeing a review by the author, I was skeptical . I have two boys, one in college studying to be a chemical engineer, and one in high school wanting to be an oceanic engineer. I read the book, bought two one for each son, and they both have enjoyed them. Citing that the author, provides great advice for the aspiring and current student in engineering. Review: A Definite Read - I highly recommend this book whether your goal is to attend school or not to become an engineer. Well written and not only offers advice for engineering students, but it applies to any course of study and life.

Solid Life Advice
This man's guidance changed my life. Down to Earth human that naturally helps others grow. I ended up giving the book to my high school aged daughter because I wish I had learned these things earlier in life. Recommend this book for any self-progression and learning, not just Engineering.

Very nice book to gift.
I purchased this book for my husband because he loves to read books and to learn. He works in the construction field and is a handyman, and thought maybe he could learn about becoming an engineer as well, and he loves it. He reads it everyday.

for someone who wants to become something so special as an ingenieur, I will recommend that book further. Everything is kept realistic and feasible. Its easy to read and the language is not overly complicated to understand. That is actually good, because English is not my first language and still, I could understand the meaning and the main massage of that book. Overall I would recommend that book and I am waiting to see the results.

'Becoming an Engineer ' by Jake Ryland is essential reading - not just for those intending to become students of engineering - but for all ages and for any discipline. Jake Ryland, amazingly, makes the prospect of 'self-discipline' positively attractive. This book gives a step-by-step guide to success in whatever task or venture the reader has set themselves. It really is a recipe for life - and it's never too late to learn those skills or improve upon or overcome those aspects which may previously have been a hindrance. Difficulties with background, circumstances, ability or self-worth need no longer be the obstacles they may once have seemed. But there is no mysticism involved. All it takes is a practical, down-to-earth determination to use the faculties we have, to put in place each of the building blocks - 'the seven fundamentals' - that Jake Ryland describes, to hold up the structure of personal accomplishment. And even if there are setbacks, as Jake Ryland himself has experienced, it will be very clear exactly where remedial work and repairs can be made to ensure that the structure can be rebuilt and maintained in future. I believe anyone would gain something from reading this book. But if you're fortunate to have already reached an acceptable level of personal attainment, then do let others know of this book so that they may have the opportunity to learn how to better themselves and the lives of others through their own endeavours. 'Becoming an Engineer ' by Jake Ryland ranks alongside the best of the life-changing and life-enhancing books I have read over the years.

I highly recommend this book as it has personally helped me a ton, even though I have a long way to go this book gives me the means to do that. It has helped me focus more and achieve the motivation I was lacking. It also has great study skills. Overall, a terrific book, you will definitely benefit from it.
