I sharpened ten pencils and then this piece of crap broke. Does not work at all anymore after ten fricken pencils, don't waste your money!

I bought this for my 91 year old Mom who has recently taken up coloring and I wanted to give her some pencils and an easy way of sharpening her pencils with her arthritic hands. This sharpener has no switches and no batteries and so is a great choice for her new 8 mm Jolly Supersticks, which need a larger than the typical 6 mm opening for pencils, and the firm opening selection dial fits these perfectly.The downsides are only two that I can find so far: the auto stop mechanism did not really work for me--the sharpener really continued to eat the pencil as long as you pushed into it. I didn't hear a change in volume or motor sound that made me stop so it continued to eat the pencils down much farther than I'd hoped.The second downside is that, when emptying the large/generous shavings tray that lots of stray shavings are left either inside or on the "floor" of where the tray sits. Not a huge problem, but not at tidy as I'd hoped.Upside here is the points are long and perfect and the finish to the barrel and points are great.I'd recommend this with the reservation not to trust the auto-stop mechanism.

This came at the estimated arrival time, but when I opened the package there were two pieces that had broken off of the sharpener. One was a metal cylinder and one looked like a plastic clip. The sharpener still worked, but does not stop sharpening when the pencil is sharp. I am guessing the piece that broke was supposed to do that. It wasn't worth returning to get a replacement. Will use while it still works.

Best pencil sharpener!! I'm a first grade teacher and have lots of pencils to sharpen daily. This sharpener is amazing and worth every penny!

Very disappointed in this sharpener that I ordered for my classroom at the end of April. We used it for a little over a month and then the first three months of this school year and it will not sharpen anything. You put the pencil in and it stops.

So far, so good. I don't let the students use it though, they seem to be able to destroy anything

My grand daughter was in need of sharpening pencils for school work, this was done constantly. We have small pencil sharpeners but they have the problem os getting stuck with the pencil and it difficult to spin the pencil around when the sharpener is to small to hold with the hand. Thi was my solution. Now the we no longer have a problem with sharpening pencils at all. My grand daughter now sharpens everything from pencils to crayons. The basket is perfect for collecting the shavings of the pencil. It thane takes quite a few sharpenings to fill. The best sharpener we ever own.
