Great product - product picture may be incorrect
I wanted the product without the pump. That's what I got. Some of the pictures show a product with just the hose and a brass valve on the end. That's what I received and that's what I'm reviewing. The product works great. I was hoping to be able to siphon gas out of my car - but these days that just doesn't work with many newer cars. None of the siphon's hoses are generally long enough or small enough in diameter to get around the intentional tight bends in the car's fuel path to the tank. In any event, I still used the siphon extremely easily in order to transfer gas from my generator to a 5 gallon portable tank and from the tank into my car. It's so simple and works every time like a charm. The ball valve in the brass end is what does the trick, you just shake that end into the reservoir that you wish to pull gas from a few time until the gas works it's way through the hose and then physics takes over from there. The nice thing is, the ball valve rattles while it's pulling gas so you not only see the gas but you hear the ball valve feedback as well. The faster the gas is traveling, the higher the frequency of the ball valve noise. Can't beat this price and product - but as I said, don't buy it with the thought that you will siphon gas out of your car. Hint: For that, I used an icemaker hose and it worked like a charm in my 2006 Honda Civic.

Works Great-Cheap Price-Made in USA
This siphon hose with the one way valve works very well and is quick to use when it is a fairly straight inline path to the fuel tanks liquid source. However on my 78 GMC truck it would not work through the outside filler cap opening due to multiple bends in the filler neck hoses. I was able to simply diosconnect the filler neck hoses from under the truck and siphon all the fuel for easier removal of both tanks. This is not to say you may wish to do this if out on the road? A great product actually made in our USA and quite affordable.

Works!!
Works great and works fast. Easily siphon gas, diesel or keep in minutes and no worries of getting any in your mouth by doing it the old way

Do not use to siphon gas from vehicles!
I really wanted this to work. I purchased it to siphon gas from my two cars for use in my new generator in case of an extended electical outage like the one-week outage that happened last winter.I was able to get the siphon threaded into the tank of my Honda Civic, but no amount of shaking would start the flow of gas - I'm thinking the tank was too shallow, even though it was mostly full. Then I tried it in my Lexus RX300. I got it in a foot and at the first bend the copper tip came off, jammed about 9" into the filler tube. After reading the other one-star review I was aware that this was a possibility and had initally wrapped wire around the tip to make it more secure, but it wouldn't fit though the nozzle hole with the additional wire so I removed and just secured the tip into the hose as well as I could.I took it to the local body shop to see if they could remove the tip and they had some needle nose pliers with 12" jaws and were able to extract it.In re-reading the product description, I see that it doesn't actually say you can use it to siphon gas from vehicles and I can't recommend it for that use.Other than the tip coming off, the siphon is well made and would be suitable for use in a wide-mouthed container that had more than a few inches of liquid in it.The one-star review is for vehicle use, which is unfair since it wasn't sold as being suitable for that. For just transferring fluids in easily accessible containers, I'd give it 3 or 4 stars.

Valve does not hold liquid in
I only had limited success trying to empty my snow blower gas tank into a gas can, which I put several feet lower than the snow blower. After a lot of shaking of the siphon, some gas worked its way a few inches up the tube but not as high as the edge of the tank. When I lifted tube to get some fluid flowing down, most of the gas came the end of the siphon back into snow blower. I conclude that I probably have a defective product since the valve does not work as described. After 30 minutes of work, I only managed to drain 1/2 the snow blower tank.

Make sure your vehicle allows siphoning
Don't even know if this product works because my 2000 Windstar has a valve in the gas filler tube that doesn't let you put a hose into the gas tank. Will try it in my boat when summer comes.

I love this thing
I'm getting old -- it's hard to hold up 5-gal cans of gas or diesel when fueling UTV & tractor. This little jewel is a God-send -- lift the can up above the fill-pipe and rest it there; put the end with the brass gizmo into the can; put the other end into the fuel tank's fill-pipe; move the end with the brass gizmo rapidly up and down a few times. With each shake, the fuel climbs up the hose another inch or so. Keep going until the fuel starts to flow freely. Then just wait until the can is empty...or until the tank is full, in which case you just lift the gizmo above the level of fuel in the can and the flow stops in a heartbeat or two. It's slow, but it is entirely pain-free. Every time I use it, I get the giggles, thinking about all those times I wound up with sore shoulders and aching arms after putting 15 gallons of diesel into the tractor. I love this thing. It has worked flawlessly for five years, and I see no reason it shouldn't be going strong when they put me in a hole in the ground.

Perfect for motorcycling trips!
Just a quick not telling everyone that I could not be happier!! :)The one way valve appears to be made of real glass, and I get this feeling that I'm going to have this tool for a long long time. For some reason once I ordered this item; in my recently ordered product it came up as a totally different product. Rest assured it is a blueish hose with a brass end.5 stars!P.S. It is a rather big diameter so this can pump FAST. It filled a 30 oz MSR camping fuel bottle in seconds. After I used it, I hung it outside for the afternoon, and it was bone dry with almost no gas smell. Thanks amazon for the free shipping and the awesome price.
