A beautifully told page-turner- Island At The End Of Everything
The award-winning author's second novel-The Island At The End Of Everything; set in the early twentieth century Philippines, is a beautifully told page-turner.This story was set in the early twentieth century on Cullion Island in the Philippines which was once the world's largest leper colony. This is a story of a twelve-year-old girl Amihan who is sailed to a neighbouring island-Coron because her mother was 'touched'.This mysterious land was a complete stranger to her.She felt miserable, but, what she did not know was the path that lay beyond her.Personally, I love the fact that Amihan and her friend Mariposa were brave and innovative young girls.NOTHING had the power to discourage them from reaching their goal.Their quest for reaching home led them to an adventurous journey. What touched me most about the book is the fact that the simple love of a young girl for her mother led her to an adventure of her own and taught her some of the most valuable lessons in life!
