They are hand made and are close to 4x4. We bought 100 0f them and none were larger than 41/4. Most were 4x4 give or take a small variance. Had about 5 broken in each box. Some had a slight bow in them. Some out and some in. We didn't bother w/ the bowed out and the bowed in don't show unless you really look for them. Over all, most pleased. **Q: Can you use these in a swimming pool?** A: Don’t know but I doubt it. They are clay. I used them as inserts on Saltillo tile patio floor. Used a high quality outdoor sealer. So far so good. But constant water and chemicals from a pool seems like a bad idea. **Q: I would like to give these as wedding favors to be used as coasters.
