David the Shepherd Paracord Shepherd Sling (Old-Fashioned Slingshot) Handmade

I usually make my own but I don't always come up with a winner. I appreciate David's consistency of construction.and variety of constructions. I usually give the woven ones away to kids, grandchildren and family. Personally I prefer the leather versions, I think the stone release is cleaner. I always keep one in the car and in the back pack, you never know when you'll find a stone that wants a change of location. As a lifelong slinger, I assure you there won't be many others around you and you will draw a crowd of kids, occasionally some adults.

I have several slings that I've made myself, regular leather and paracord types, my attempts to weave one have epically failed. I'm disabled and have no use of my left hand. I therefore ordered this one to complete my arsenal. What a great job David did on the sling!!! So far all I've slung have been a few range golf balls, but it flings them wayyyyy out there. I'm well pleased with the product, Once the weather warms up, I'll be shooting for accuracy, I think these have to be some of the best looking slings as well. 5 stars easily.

This is a reasonable value at $14/each. Note the para-cord is not continuous. The long sling cords are tied onto each side of the basket. Sharp edged projectiles tend to grip onto the paracord which may give erroneous results. If you plan to use anything but smooth river rocks, I recommend a sling with a smooth pouch.

Pocket wants to close around the Stone and holds it so that the release isn't consistent. Bought a leather one for a better release. David makes good stuff.

I am very happy with this sling. I purchased 2 of them and I'm buying more for myself and for gifts. The sling was made with quality care. It is very durable and holds together very well. The length of the sling is just right for me as an average size man, but my teenager was able to use it very well also.

Sling as well built with para cord. Looks like it could hold up for a lifetime! Now if only I could hit something with it!

These are lots of fun. It took a few tries to get the hang of it, but I can now reliably hit a stop sign from 50 feet with a golf ball. Lots of fun. The sound when you release is pretty cool too.

The paracord sling is awesome to use. I always wanted to use one of these when I read the account of David's fight with Goliath. It doesn't feel awkward to use and feels comfortable with every throw. Works best with bigger and smooth stones. Also would suggest practicing the throwing motion first before throwing a stone for the first time for safety reasons. Other than that, have fun slinging.
