Wanted to try this after watching the series “Call The Midwife”. We really like them, kind of tastes like mild version of a butterscotch candy. Not too sweet, perfect for any candy lover.

This amazing little drop assists when you may be feeling a bit "ify', I had read Queen Elizabeth always had these at hand whenever she traveled. So, in my opinion, if it's reliable enough for the Queen I think it's reliable for me!!

Just what I wanted

They’re quite pretty candies, and they have a mild sweetness, but not a lot of other flavor. Kind of like a lozenge, to lubricate your throat.

TBH I as a little disappointed that these candies don't taste like the ones I remember as a child. They were still a tasty snack though.

Much like other reviewers, I watched "Call the Midwife" and they mention barley sugars a lot. Intrigued I ordered my first tin and tried them. They are truly delightful! I have since ordered 2 more tins and will continue to do so. A small caveat, the tins did arrive with some denting but with such a low cost for them and free Prime shipping from Europe, I can hardly complain. If you are planning on giving them as gifts be aware of this. The candies themselves arrived in whole pieces and in good order.Taste is not too sweet with a hint of citrus

I bought these to eat while rewatching my way through Call the Midwife. They're really a lot like most hard candies but with a subtle undertone of barley. You'll miss it if you don't slow down to appreciate it. If they're good enough to be Nurse Crane's favorite candy, they're good enough for me!
