I was skeptical about buying this at first because of the comments about the smell. But I decided to go ahead and give it a try for my scalp. The smell at first was like a light grapefruit, but it then turned into a weird smell. I did like how well it lathered up. The weird smell disappeared when I used my conditioner. I was impressed on how soft my hair felt afterwards. The obvious thing that blew me away was how light and fresh my scalp felt! It has never felt like this, always felt as I had a film over it. I will definitely keep using this, the results are worth it!

I have been taking better care of my scalp and hair since my last baby three years ago. I noticed my hormones made my head itchy and highly uncomfortable. I would scratch but it wouldn’t stop. I would check for lice and nothing was found. I tried so many shampoos from anti fungal to head and shoulders. The head and shoulders works most of the time but after awhile, it doesn’t do its job. That’s when I use this product. A clarifying, residue stripping, gentle cleanse that starts my head back at fresh again. It’s such a game changer for me. It smells amazing, works like a charm at removing months of build up and keeps my scalp from the dreaded itch. I only wish I knew about this sooner. The way I use it is once every month or two. I can tell when my hair starts becoming more oily, heavy and not its lightweight puffy mane. Whenever it begins to feel unreasonably itchy, I use this for my hair washing (sometimes twice in a shower!) and follow with my regular H&S conditioner. Then, I don’t have to wash my hair for at least 7-10 days. Which is a true testament to how well this formula works. It doesn’t dry my hair out at all. It is the most gentle formula I’ve ever tried and again, the citrus smell is my favorite. I firmly believe this has high value for money as one bottle lasts me half a year. I haven’t yet had any issues with the bottle leaking but I’m not exactly traveling with it either. If I must travel, I’ll either shower with it the day before or use a small travel bottle. So I cannot speak in the bottle leakage bit. Overall, I will be coming back for more. As for you, I honestly don’t know. But I had a great experience and it would be worth trying if you had any of the issues I did.

Love the smell, I thought it was a deep cleaning shampoo which is not, but I like how my hair is clean for more days than any other shampoo, I have oily hair and cleans it and last more than expected

The bottle had no seal -- I was shocked because it has been many decades since it became the standard for manufacturers to put seals on liquids. I assume that what's in the bottle is in fact what it was supposed to be - it smells like grapefruit and was effective in getting rid of the sticky-build up in my hair.

I bought this shampoo mainly to use before toning my hair at home, and I’m really happy with it. My hairstylist recommended using a deep cleansing shampoo before toning to remove buildup and help the toner hold better. It has a nice, fresh scent and lathers amazingly well. I have long hair, so I usually need quite a bit of shampoo, but with this one, I only need a small amount. Once I work it into my hair, it turns into a thick, rich foam and spreads really easily. I use it every time I tone my hair at home, and I also use it whenever I feel like my scalp needs a deeper clean. It leaves my hair feeling really clean, and I love that I don’t need to use a lot of product. For me, it has become a regular part of my at-home hair toning routine.

I don’t love the smell, but I switched to soft water and had the most greasy hair ever. So I started using this shampoo and it has helped so much! I definitely recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ **Cleans well, but too drying for my hair** I wanted to love this shampoo because it does a good job of making my scalp feel clean and fresh, especially for oily hair. However, it left my hair feeling very dry and stripped, especially on the lengths and ends. If you have a very oily scalp and need a deeper clean occasionally, this may work well, but I would recommend pairing it with a very moisturizing conditioner. Unfortunately, it was a little too drying for my hair type, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase. The shampoo lathers on thick, but rinses out nicely. Therefore the consistency of the shampoo is very foamy once applied to hair. I have no scalp irritation, which is important since I got this shampoo for specific oily spotting/build up.

Real grapefruit has a funky smell when you first cut into it, or open the juice bottle, so if you don't like that, this shampoo is not for you. When you first put the shampoo on you palm, you get that smell, but as you lather your hair, it starts smelling good like grapefruit is. I don't know how good it is controlling dandruff, but it leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean. I hate products that leave shampoo clinging to your hair, this one does not do that. it washes out squeaky clean. My hair smells good and not overpowering. I will be buying it again.

I tried it for like two months, and man it's good, I am a young man, my hair has medium length, super greasy, the smallest effort, work, gym, walking or stress would create an oil factory in my head and this one definitely did the job of cleansing it. But it does dry out the hair if you wash daily like I do. So I still had to use a conditioner, one from OGX with apple cider vinegar. They work like a charm
