Very good second book in the series
I really liked Georgeโs second book in the series. Indeed I preferred it to the first book. Perhaps it takes me a little while to get in to the rhythm of the books!Like the first book this is funny and easy to read. Some of the comments are laugh out loud funny - like his โtoiletโ efforts in the triathlonโฆMy complaint about the first book was that the events were just too easy and mundane and not really escapist enough to draw me in. This book ups the ante a bit. Also the first book is a bit of an โhomage to Rachelโ (his wife) and I felt that hearing about him jogging slowly alongside her wasnโt that inspiring. In this one she is now much more in to it and quite the competitor for George. I feel she is now a more independent character and has a โpurposeโ other that something to fill pages. This book leaves us with a teaser to another event they have both just entered which looks to be upping the ante again. At this rate the fifth and sixth instalments (I canโt remember how many he is doing) must lead to the Ride Across America or Marathon de Sablesโฆ

A good, easy read
I've read all George Mahood's books, from which it may be concluded I am a great fan. I have to admit that I don't laugh aloud as I did with the earlier books but it doesn't mean I don't strangely enjoy this series of running, swimming, cycling books.I am now disabled so can't run, frightened of water so a crap swimmer and can only just ride a bike without falling off every few yards. As a consequence of this I am weak with admiration at the thought of all this sportiness and George Mahood writes about it sufficiently entertainingly and with his usual self denigrating wit that I doubt anyone could fail to enjoy this book .

A fun and inspiring series
I have read all but one of George Mahood's books. This DNF series is fun and inspiring especially as he and his wife have 3 young children so juggling everything can't be easy. It proves that we can all make time for sport/exercise and challenges if we choose to prioritise them. Definitely recommended if you're looking for that push to get started but also just for a fun read because if you've read all the books, you are curious to know what George (& Rachel) are up to next!

In awe of Rachel for this book
I love the relationship that George and Rachel have, you can see the love and devotion through the pages, and some real laugh out loud moments as some of their conversations sound similar to ones I have with my husband! However, for this book, I am in awe of Rachel. To be good enough for a good for age time for London Marathon is quite incredible!! And this when they have three small children too! Wow, just wow!Canโt wait for book three. Thanks George!

Really enjoying the series...
Essentially this is a book about a few sporting adventures of a normal bloke, but heck Iโm hooked. I read the first book quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it, and the second one doesnโt disappoint either. It is really comforting and enjoyable to hear more of Georgeโs adventures, and Iโm now eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

Itโs like George is in my mind when describing triathlons and swims. Looking forward to the next book and see what craziness these two have been up to now

Very inspiring
George is a very good story teller. Especially entertaining and inspiring for me and others who have run marathons and triathlons.

What can be more fun than running?
Join George as he talkes his wife into joining not just a running race but a triathlon. Will she do it, will she make it? The descriptions of the countryside is outstanding. And there are surprises at every turn. I have read a few of his books and have never been disappointed.

Well done again
I find Georgeโs recounting of his and Rachelโs achievements heartwarming. They have a lovely honest relationship. Never going to run a marathon or participate in a triathlon, Iโm enjoying running alongside George in my mind. Keep it up.
