Puts My Mind At Ease
I opted to purchase and install this lint trap because it made the most sense, functionally. Our dryer is vented to the outside. Unfortunately, the dryer duct has been installed above and almost parallel to the heating duct, and they are located in the crawl space adjacent to our basement. Our dryer became inefficient in drying, which led me to surmise the duct work was clogged. The actual ducting is not a straight course to the outside, which made adequate cleaning a hit and miss. My Wife and I decided to drop the duct in order see and clear any clogging. In the crawl space, I found a puddle of water beneath the ducting…which was caused by moisture and lint blockage that was accumulating in the bend of the duct work and dripping condensation from the seam in the ducting. After dropping the heat duct in order to access the dryer duct, we were able to access to entire duct run, which was well over 10 feet. Ridiculous installation by the home builder in placing the dryer duct above the heat duct and angled to the outside. We cleared over 18 years of lint from the duct - guessing it was 95% clogged. We reinstalled and realized we had a potential hazard on our hands. The Duct Lint Trap has proven to be perfect solution. We can trap and prevent large amounts of fibers from being blown into the ducting. Given the angled installation, there is no way the dryer blower will adequately move the damp lint to the outside or even around the bends in the ducting. I am guessing that only microfibers are accumulating in the duct at this point with the Lint Trap in place. The Lint Trap inline installation allows the dryer air to remain vented to the outside and minimizes any concern with air quality in our laundry room and home. The Lint Trap puts my mind at ease in that lint is not accumulating in the duct given the amount of lint trapped and removed after each drying cycle. I personally believe the ducting to the outside can become a fire hazard, even more so when you cannot clean the duct work thoroughly over time. I highly recommend the Lint Trap for anyone that cannot or is not cleaning their dryer vent and duct routinely. I gave the Lint Trap a ‘4-Star’ in the “easy to clean” option because you should use both hands, one to pull the lint filter out and the other hand to catch the falling lint as the “dry” lint will fall away from the filtering screen as you remove the filter and possibly jar or shake the filter. This is not case if the trapped lint is damp during removal. Currently our Lint Trap is installed vertically. We will install it horizontally when we replace our washer and dryer in future. This will allow us to conceal more of the accordion duct behind the dryer and give access to the lint trap which will be partially hidden behind the control panel of the dryer. Great Product and I highly recommend!

Easy and efficient
This in-line filter is exactly what I was looking for. My dryer is in my garage. When it runs it gets noticeably hotter and more humid. Unfortunately, my dryer is not on an exterior wall so I can’t vent through the wall. The only option I have is a roof vent. However, I don’t want lint all over my roof. This filter is perfect for my application. Hot, humid air out and lint trapped. The filter box is plastic and the filter is a thin wire mesh. It was easy to mount, but be careful not to tighten too much or the screws may crack the plastic. The plastic door latches securely so far. Other reviewers suggest adding something to secure it. It is a perfect fit for 4 inch duct work. Overall very satisfied with this product.

Very good performance, with minor tweaks needed
Installed horizontally and based on reading other reviews I added a child safety strap to assure the door stays closed and foam tape for a tight seal between the lint trap and the door. I mounted the unit so when the door opens it swings down so the user doesn't have to keep holding the door open to remove the lint trap. The lint trap itself does feel a bit flimsy and I'm wondering how well it will hold up over numerous heat cycles. I also had to add a strip of aluminum tape to the door hinge on the underside to stop a small airflow escape. I removed one star for having to add tape, add the child strap, and the durability concern of the lint trap. Overall, happy with the purchase as this has already eliminated the need for me to go outside and remove lint from the outdoor vent. It serves its purpose and at affordable price, albeit with the above modifications.

Works well, less lint outside
Great addition to our laundry room. Our dryer vents to our patio so we would often find lint all over. We have a samsung dryer and the lint trap does not seem to catch everything, especially at the beginning of each cycle. We replaced the dryer's flexible duct with rigid ducts and installed this at the same time, just above the control panel on the dryer. It is easy to check and easy to clean and it is really satisfying to clean the dryer's trap, then close the door, turn on the dryer and see the rogue lint get caught by this device. Installing it was easy, but the final install is not as clean looking as I would prefer. Having some couplings or duct tape in the box would have been nice since we had to get some to finish the install. Between this device and the new smooth ducts, I feel like our dryer is much safer and at less risk of a lint fire. Since installing it, I have not found any lint on our patio. This unit is also nice because we can open the door in the winter to get some humidity into the house while we dry our laundry

Great adapter for dryer
Didn't know why it was taking longer for clothes to dry. Had trouble with lint getting past the screen in the dryer and clogging the vent outside. After installing this and cleaning all of the lint from inside the dryer and the outside vent, I haven't had to use extra time on drying clothes. This little thing traps the lint that gets past the dryer screen. I mounted mine on the wall just above the dryer for easy access.

Almost works, but can be fixed.
Kind of expensive considering you have to fix it before using it ... unless you want lint blown into your laundry room. As other's have noted, the screen does not fit snugly. I added a strip of felt along the edge that doesn't fit snugly. That helped, but what I finally had to do was put a stocking leg on the end of the output connection. I was surprised at how much lint got past the screen filter. I think it is too coarse.

THE ANSWER TO MY LINT PROBLEM.
I can not believe, how well this product works! My vent blows onto my roof at the front of my home. The lint looked terrible on my roof. I researched products went with the “Pro Clean” Dryer Duct Lint Trap and I couldn’t be happier. Each load of laundry I now quickly remove lint from both the dryer trap and the “Pro Clean” trap. Its a total Game changer! It was extremely easy to install, I did spend an extra $17 at home depot to purchase a new Everbuilt 8’ x4” flexible dryer transition duct (in picture) to make installation easier. Plus $3 on rubber foam as I read in another person’s review it gives the trap a better seal. I absolutely love this ‘Pro Clean’ lint duct gadget. I highly recommend it if you have lint flying everywhere like I did before installing this lint trap.

People who manufacture dryer vent materials should really talk to each other.
It is easy to use, easy to clean, and solves a problem with lint getting into the vent. Installation is less straightforward. It seems to be made for connection only to the 4" aluminum flex duct, which slips over the outside of the connections. It does not fit conveniently with any other standard 4" solid aluminum ducting. Solid duct does not slip over the outside, and the couplings for solid duct do not slip to the inside of the unit. In short, be well prepared with some lengths of flex duct and extra hose clamps. Once in place, it works perfectly.
