The plug may draw a lot of power because one of my GFCI outlets in my kitchen tripped while it was plugged in so I’m using it on a non GFCI outlet and it’s working great. I would recommend it for anyone who makes tea or heats larger volumes of water. Basically the midline fill is hit when I empty my Brita pitcher into it from full. Simple easy and fast and wasn’t too expensive I’m happy. I got the orange to be fun and because there wasn't a green option available. Fired it up 3 times tonight! It looks durable, heats quickly and is quieter than my old GE stainless. Stays cool to the touch on outside. We're English and drink a lot of tea so my criteria was simple. Large enough to fill a tea pot, quick boiling, no plastic or silicone inside (which typically means you can't have an external water viewer), sturdy and attractive or fun looking. Handle placement and lid placement was also key to avoid hot steam when refilling or pouring. This has a button on the handle to open the lid so you don't have to pull the top off by hand and risk burning. Some reviewers didn't like that the lid doesn't fully fold back, but I see that as a safety feature, it folds back more than enough to fill it and acts as a steam guard on consecutive boils/refills. Although it doesnt have an external water level viewer, it is stamped on the stainless inside. The handle placement is on the side vs. the top (which some of the prettier models had) again can be too hot and I felt was a nuisance on my old kettle, so I like that the handle is not over the lid or close to the spout. It feels very comfortable and safe to pour/grasp. This unit checked all the basic boxes and looks cool too. Durability is also important, so if I have problems, I'll edit this rating.
