If you change ball joints, you NEED this set!
This set is great, with a few issues. Like the title says. If you change ball joints you need this set. Yes, you can rent a set at most auto parts places and hope the tool they give you isn't so beat up its unusable and has the cups you need. Or you can get this set and KNOW you have what you need... mostly. I used it on an F-250 and had to use a piece of flat stock as the combination of cups I needed was too long for the C-clamp to fit. For most cars this wouldn't be an issue. The only design flaw I found was that the cups are not set up to lock together. In most cases the user has to stack cups together so the ball joint has clearance to be pressed out. This makes it so the user has to have thee or more hands or a helper to keep the cups aligned while tightening the clamp. When working alone, this can get very frustrating.Other than that, the set worked great and was well worth the money. I recommend it for even the home diy guy, like myself.

Strong and does the job - Ram 3500
I used this kit to replace the ball joints on my 2003 RAM 3500 4x4. It had no problem pushing out these 18 y/o joints and I even had to forgo using an impact on the top joints and just use a ratchet because of clearance. Still not bad at all. I had to use 2 of the adapters (H&L) for the lowers but that posed no issues. It has adapters to do even larger ball joints as well so later models shouldn't be any problem. Also had plenty of clearance for 1485 U-joints.I haven't used one of these very many times (for ball joints) and I ended up setting it up wrong which resulted in a lot more strain on the c-clamp than it would normally see. It didn't distort or show any weakness at all.Lesson learned; DON'T hold on to the C-clamp while your'e pressing the joints out. When the joint lets go, you may end up with a squished finger!
