These owls are so cute and do work very well for self-watering my plants. However, they are SUPER fragile - barely tapped the end of one to another, and the entire owl shattered. They also have a tendency to tip over in a smaller pot (understandably), which leaves me terrified they’ll break at any moment. Again, cute, work well (kept indoor plants watered for about a week), but be careful.

My plants love these and so do I. It makes the daily/weekly upkeep easier since I have 8 thousand plants (more like 200, but still). I haven't used them with any sort of bottle for long term watering, but I do keep them in the planter and fill up the basin when empty. My plants are looking healthier, there is less mess, they are cute and it makes my life easier. Would buy again.

I'm a chronic over or under waterer and a terrible plant parent, but these cute spikes solve that problem! Now my plants are thriving!

I installed them today at a grave to keep the plants I put in watered. I filled them but haven't used bottles yet. I'll check tomorrow to see how far down the water is but it was dripping out when I put them in. Soaked an hour before and made a hole in the dirt before screwing them in. No problem. They're really cute.

Very cute! I made sure to pre-dig the holes as the instructions caution the terracotta is fragile. Impressed how much water they hold; about 1/2 cup. I've been filling up/ topping off every 5-7 days. (I've not yet used an inverted water bottle with them as I've not been out of town any extended period. However, I am confident it'll be very simple and effective should the need arise.)The sweet little owls add a bit of whimsy and charm, while helping to keep my plants properly hydrated. Great purchase and will buy again.

I've had these about a week and a half and they are working well. So far, I am using them without a bottle. (Thanks to one reviewer who suggested using them without a bottle and to another at this site or another for a similar item to use more than one in larger pots.) I do like the owl design.

Great watering stake. The neck portion is fashioned in such a way that it easily screws into packed soil. Looks great, too.
