Automate It with Zapier: Boost your business productivity using effective workflow automation techniques

Thorough enough for a techy; excellent planning guide for biz owner
One of the "problems" with Zapier is that you can do too many things with it. If you're not technical, it can be overwhelming. If you are, every business process looks ripe for automation. But after a year (or when your Zapier expert isn't around anymore), you still need to know how the "hip bone's connected to the thigh bone" to add to or upgrade your processes. That's where this book is golden. It's as much a planning guide (with templates, spreadsheets and online links) as it is a how to. For ex., there are decision trees for planning out your automations to "see" whether full or partial automation makes the most sense. You don't want to commit to a whole string of connectors and then find out a critical step isn't one of the Zaps available! Additionally, there are cost issues you'll want to know in advance. What version of Zapier will you need? Will you need to upgrade connecting apps to allow Zaps? This book is thorough enough for a techy but written in an easy style for a business person to confidently document the must-have benefits of business automation.

Clear, well-written and great insights for all Zapier users
This book is so helpful!! Whilst I have been using Zapier in my business for a few years already (and would consider myself relatively proficient), after reading this book I have realised how little I was using the functionality of many of the built-in apps in my business. It has also saved me countless hours in trying to establish certain multi-step zaps that I have been putting off implementing for a while now. I particularly found chapter 2 useful in helping me simplify these processes prior to automation. The book is laid out in a very clear and easy to navigate way, and I appreciated the step-by-step examples that made the implementation very straight-forward. Whilst I was not approaching this book as a complete novice I would say it’s still appropriate for a complete beginner as everything is so clearly explained, in fact I wish this had been written 2 years ago!

A timely publication to help right now!
As a longtime trustee of a small underresourced charity, I am keen to update our working for better efficiency and communication amongst scattered volunteers. (And how we increase capacity to work with the new people we have attracted on Zoom during the pandemic is a special challenge.) Automate It with Zapier is already giving me lots of promising ideas. The book is very well laid out in structure so I feel confident that as a non-specialist I can get to grips with the general principles of automation and then usefully dip into what we need. Could I say, Chapter 2 gives great insight into process simplification and improvement, but ideally I would have liked a bit more beyond an introduction to this topic and perhaps another example to work through, as I feel more practice would be helpful before actually attempting our own automation work. But I am really pleased with this purchase. Thank you!
