Coffee Gator Coffee Canister, 22oz Airtight Stainless Steel Container

This is a great coffee canister. It keeps coffee fresh, like keeping you beans or grounds in the freezer, without having to put them in the freezer. Lid closes well, locking out air; has a one way filter that releases any stale air that can ruin coffee flavor; very well made and looks sharp. It even comes with a measured scoop to measure out your beans or grounds with. Must have for any coffee lover.

looks sharp, does a great job of keeping coffee fresh. I'd tried a ton of random containers (tupperware, specialized coffee jars, pump vacuum jars, etc), most of which simply failed to keep the coffee fresh. With this, it's basically good-as-fresh-ground for a fair number of days, and "adequate" for long enough to mostly use up a bag. The 11oz seems just the right size for modern bags of beans (is it just me, or did the "standard" size shrink in the last few years??) with a bit of margin to help avoid messes. I'm very happy with the purchase. It's solidly made of steel with a premium-looking finish, too, and avoids unnecessary plastics.

Perfect canister! I use flavored coffee and like to go back and forth between two flavors at a time. Bought these and they work perfectly. I buy 12 oz bag of beans, pull some out for first pot, and it fits the rest perfectly! They look very rich too!

UPDATE: I'm going to upgrade my rating from a 3 to 4 stars. After speaking with customer service, they took very good care of me and replaced my coffee canister. They did so quickly and really with no hassle. I had them replace it with the stainless steel version and it is great. Props to Gator Coffee for taking care of their customers. That's what I like to see and I would definitely recommend their product to others. I received my charcoal gray Coffee Gator today and was excited to clean it up and fill with coffee. Upon unwrapping, I inspected the product and noticed some scratches and smears on the canister. The box came with a canister, a stainless steel 2 tbsp scoop, 5 total CO2 filters and a small glass container for travel. The glass container seems a bit small, but it is for travel, so that's fine. It seems like it may be enough for about 4 cups of coffee. It has a small window so you can see what's inside. The stainless steel scoop is light and feels like it could pop apart if dropped on the floor. It probably won't, but it's not one piece. It looks like the handle was mechanically pressed onto the scoop. There's a Gator logo under the scoop and also label on the handle, and you see some indentation on the opposite side from the logo and label being pressed. Asides from the small scratches, the container is nice. It has a large opening for big hands, and the lid comes with a CO2 release filter thing, and there's a dial that you can turn so you can mark the date you put coffee in the canister. A couple of things to mention: the metal part that holds the lid in place rests directly on the canister, which scratches the paint off. The paint comes off pretty easily. I was expecting the color to be something more like my Contigo tumblers. It's probably a better idea to go with the plain stainless steel container instead of one with color. The canister feels light. Overall, I was expecting better quality for a $30 can and for that, I give it 3 stars. This is one of the more expensive coffee containers and I'm a bit disappointed. If I have to buy another one in the future, I'll be giving another container a shot.

Love it! Keeps coffee fresh.

I am part of a small coffee "club" at work and we buy a giant 2.5lb bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee that lasts about a month. By the end of the month, and the bag, the coffee is stale. It smells and tastes much different than it did when it was new and it was always so obvious when we hit the end and opened a new bag. I decided to try out some containers to help keep it fresher longer and found this canister. It seemed good and the reviews looked solid so I went ahead and bought a couple (needed 2 to fit 2.5lbs of ground beans, in fact it fits perfectly when we open a new bag, scoop enough for a 12 cup pot, then pour the remainder in the canisters). I've tried a few different containers at home over time, and usually there's one thing I end up not liking about them. I had a glass jar from Walmart that seemed pretty good, but the metal latch was really wonky and did not close easily. A plastic container I tried had the rubber seal change colors on me after a few weeks, and even worse, trapped some water inside the hollow walls when I cleaned it. I have not found any issues with this canister. The latch is smooth, while definitely feeling like it gets a nice, tight seal on the lid. The material being stainless is great, it will be a breeze to clean if I ever feel the need to do so, probably just a quick wipedown with a damp cloth would do the trick. The dial on top is handy to remind you how long the coffee has been in there. On one of the two I bought the dial numbers were slightly off center from the window, but it wasn't a big deal. I really like the bonus stainless steel scoop, which replaced our little plastic one at work that had seen some miles. This one should last forever. So down to it, does this thing keep the coffee fresh? Less than a week ago we finished off the first bag since I bought the canisters. Comparing the last bit of coffee in the canister to a new bag, there was a slight difference in aroma, but nothing even remotely close to what I experienced before. The coffee definitely seemed much more consistent over the entire month. So I would say it was a very successful run, and I am glad I invested in these!

This airtight container seems to be keeping my ground coffee mice and fresh and looks good However, it arrived with a small dent on the bottom/edge and - after only using twice - the stainless steel scoop handle just fell off. Obviously it wasn't properly welded on, or had it been glued? This is why I can only give this product 3 stars.
