Crawlspace-DIY Vapor Barrier Tape, 12 Mil Easy-to-Use Polyethylene Moisture Vapor Barrier Seam Tape for Crawl Space, Repairs, Underlayment, Waterproof, 4" x 180'

I used this tape to connect/seal the moisture barrier that I laid under my basement floor. The tape was easy to apply and was very sticky and secure. I like that it was very wide, so it was a bit forgiving on being straight. The tape is very durable and is also moisture proof, which is a requirement for a vapor/moisture barrier installation. The tape is easy to cut with a razor blade or pair of scissors.

We purchased this tape as part of the encapsulation of our crawl space. The tape was good quality, had solid thickness while still being able to be torn, thanks to the ridges on the edges. Work very well. I hope I NEVER have to do another crawl space encapsulation — but if I do, THIS is the tape I’ll use.

Perfect for my encapsulation project. 4" width allows me to get a nice overlap of both sheets of plastic without the fear of it coming off. Personally I cut it with scissors since ripping by hand seems to stretch the ends, but you could if necessary. I used a wallpaper roller to press all the edges that I could and the seal it made against the plastic makes me think water would have a hard time finding its way in. Once you put it down, you're not peeling it back up.

This brand works pretty well. No issues, solid product. It has held up well over two years now.

Even though I had a few areas that the heavy duty tape did not bond well, I still would probably repurchase. I used the tape in a crawlspace encapsulation to re-tape some areas that had previously been taped. Tape is thick and hard for an old lady like me to pull from the roll. I had to use scissors to cut tape. Tape is thick & sticky and did bond in some areas but didn't do well around a column sitting on concrete. No moisture was on the concrete when I tried two times to tape column area, however, tape did not adhere. Price of tape for the quality was good in my opinion.

Just finished up a crawlspace vapor barrier using 3 rolls of this tape. Fantastic to work with. It seals better to foamboard, brick, and plastic than the polyolefin tape I started the project with. Will be buying another round for a larger job I have coming up.

Just got this and tested it in a small spot. Looks super heavy and really sticky.. better than expected! BUY IT !!!
