Is this uv resistant? any uv rating or standard it subscribes to?

Upon further research, Kevlar is not uv stable & will "break down" & loose strength after "long term" exposure to sun light. "Long term" is not defined anywhere, so I assume it means a permanent or semi permanent setup....weeks or months. Also, "break down" seems to indicate a loss of strength, not a deterioration like rot. So assume there will be no visible evidence to determine a loss of strength or nearing failure. As an experiment, I took a hank of 100 pound test & hung a flower pot from my deck. It got about 6 to 8 hours of sunlight a day. I put it up on the Fourth of July. It broke March 2nd in a Blizzard with 40 to 50 MPH winds. You be the judge on that one. Hope this helps.

Can it fit through a needle? It looks too thick more like 550 cord.

you would have to use a large upholstery needle. While it is not as large diameter as 550 paracord (I bought the 300 # line), it is about 1/8 inch in diameter

It states that the product has a melting point above 930f but on the packaging it states a fusion point of 800f, which is it?

Sorry, I have not tested the melting/fusion point of this product.

What does this mean? Safe Working Load: 20% of original strength

The strength of the kevlar cord comes from laboratory test. However, there are many conditions need to be considered while you are using the cord, like the temperature, humidity, working style...and so on, the cord will be watage by these different conditions. So, in conclution, that there is a safe working definition loding 20% of original strength. For example, the 100lb kevlar cord, its laboratory test strength is 100lb, but its safe working strength in actual is 20lb.

Waste of money, false advertising

False advertising! I bought this to suspend a cooking grill from a tripod while winter camping. The cord burnt and caught fire after holding a regular bic an inch away. Waste of money!

Good Stuff!

Bought this to create a patch with 1680-denier, polyurethane-coated ballistic nylon. Worked with that material and heavy-duty denim flawlessly. Purchased mainly for its ability to handle high heat in case of a slide on asphalt. Haven’t tested that out, fortunately. Thickness is ideal, for my purposes.
