Light weight and only 75DB. Runs all of my pneumatic carpentry tools
My voice in a normal conversational tone is 80DB. This CAT-1P1060S runs at 75DB, which is more than the advertised 56DB. Honestly, I did not believe the 56DB claim as my new 17 seer heat pump fan in my house makes 65DB and it is not loud at all so I doubted this compressor would be more quiet than my HVAC fan motor. Being that it is quieter than the spoken voice I am thrilled. I always hated the traditional pancake compressors that run close to 100DB on a good day as they make a work site louder than it needed to be. What I used to do is run my loud mechanic's compressor I have on my 2003 7.3L diesel F350 service truck to power my carpentry air tools, but that obviously used diesel at $3.50/gallon and I had to run a 150' to 200' long 3/8" air line to get the air inside the house where I needed it. With this compressor, I enjoy leaving Betsy (my truck's name) in the driveway turned off and I simply grab this tiny CA compressor. It is super light, which is very nice! It is compact so I can stow it inside my behind-the-cab truck box with plenty of room for other tools so it is always ready to use. On job sites without power, (which are few and far between) I use my 4000w pure sine wave inverter that is wired to my truck's electrical system, which requires I run the engine to prevent dead batteries (7.3 diesels needs gobs of battery power to start). I just use a 100' or 200' long 12AWG extension cord from the inverter to the job site with a short 50' long 3/8" pneumatic hose in the area I am working. I only use my truck compressor now to run my mechanic's tools such as impact guns and the like as they require tons of air supply, much more than any carpentry tool will ever need. I absolutely love this California CAT-1P1060S compressor.

Very quiet and powerful
The California Air Tools air compressor has been the best air compressor I have ever used.It is incredibly quiet and came with east to understand instructions. It pushes a good amount of air for an electric compressor. It does not come with hoses and nozzles so this will need to be purchased seperate.

What a deal!!!!
Very quite air compressor, perfect light weight package. Needed this decades ago. Buying another just to make sure I always have one. It will definitely impress you.

Very happy with it
My hubs created his own espresso machine using air pressure so he needed a small air compressor. He’s very happy with this compressor’s size, power and sound level. It’s still loud but nothing like his big one.

A good machine
I’ve had mine two years. When I first opened the box the first thing I noticed was that the drain isn’t on the bottom. A grade school kid who hangs out with dad fixing stuff would know a drain that’s not on the bottom can’t drain, so that really lowered my expectations for the engineering. You would think they could afford the expense of a street el so the drain valve would be handy with the drain on the bottom. So I have to lean it against the wall to get the drain on the bottom so the condensate can drain. But it really is quiet, which is what it was bought for. The ad claimed it was quieter than a room AC and it is nowhere even remotely near that quiet, but compared to a typical air compressor it is extremely quiet. But to compare it with a room AC, I have mine about 30 feet from a window style AC, with a row of file cabinets blocking most of the sound from the compressor, and even then the window AC is quieter until I’m only five feet away. As to durability, mine usually stays under pressure 24 /7 and hasn’t had any trouble. Probably because it stays pressurized the pressure switch has drifted up a few lbs (no biggie). After I lowered my expectations for the engineering of a team of engineers that don’t know a drain that’s not on the bottom can’t drain, all around I’ve been quite pleasantly surprised that time proves it’s a solid piece of hardware.

Light, fast and quiet
May, I love this thing. I’m 65 this year, so decided to downsize since I no longer need a $400 air compressor taking up real estate on the floor in my garage. And the smaller compressor I had on my storage shelf was obnoxiously loud and about 10 pounds heavier than this one. So I ordered this smaller compressor and gifted the other two to my kids, who were always relying on me to air up their tires. Now they can handle that chore on their own. Before I gave those two away, though, I waited until this compressor arrived to test it out:As promised, it’s very quiet. Two people can carry on a normal conversation standing right in front of it. You won’t need hearing protection. Nice. Sitting in the garage, the 15 gallon DeWalt I gave my son would wake me up in the middle of the night from the other end of the house if I forgot to unplug it. I was afraid it would wake the neighbors and violate some city noise regulation it was so loud. The CA compressor is lighter than my 2 gallon portable compressor, as I would expect.. I no longer have to dread picking it up to carry it to the job location around the house.I was pleasantly surprised to find that the female air socket on the compressor was operable with one hand. Kudos to California Air Tools for adding that. The fit and finish are more than satisfactory. I could find nothing to complain about.I comes with the plastic air filter detached. So I installed that, plugged it in and the compressor quickly and quietly charged right up. I tested my small air nailers, up to the 18 gage unit. You shoot two or three nails and it kicks on for a few seconds, but you should expect that with a 1 gallon compressor. For a homeowner doing small jobs around the house, I would think this would work out just fine. It even runs my small palm nailer, which I use a lot for nailing jobs where it’s difficult to swing a hammer. It this continues to operate as it did today, I have no problem rating it 5 stars. Best compressor I’ve ever owned for its size.

This Little Guy is Truly Quiet
He takes a spot unseen next to carry on luggage, in the bedroom to assist cleaning of electronics, PS4, and 52" Samsung, to dust impacted phone sound and charge ports...No one else in the home has a clueit's running. The next perfect option now is a 1 Gallon Aluminum Tank to quickly fill up a low tire On anyone's vehicle in the lot, vs ruining it, having a blow out.Finding a airhose when needed to fill a low tire is high risk of overheating it.If forced to travel any distance, keep speed below 35mph. As certified tech for auto dealers, now retired, exploded blows are always low airpressure caused even in winter. He's a great tool for minor service for any vehicle, blowing out filters, giving them a second life, to cleaning details of interior, along with wet vac.Getting at hard to reach no touch removing dust around switches and console screens, to vents. It's too easy scratched.Easily unplug sunroof and AC drains that end up a costly mess of corrosion. In two seconds, easily unplug a stubborn slow sink or tub drain.Make easy adaptor with swimming foam tube worm for kids, cut a piece a foot long, place one end over drain, blast air into other end sealed off with tape with 30psi, clogged drain is history. If compressor is placed on small two wheel hand truck, it can be moved easy to where it's needed. So Hats off to the Mfg for such a quality quiet well made compact machine...and Amazon making it possible.Cheers

Amazingly quiet and quick pressure build.
Amazingly quiet. (Make sure you put the muffler air filter on... pretty quiet even without it, but what a difference when it is installed). Pretty small though I wish the handle is removable for even lower profile, and the pressure valve is the pull-to-adjust, push-to-lock type. Very satisfy right from the start, the next is it’s longevity. :)Quickly fill from 0-125psi, then stops. Leaks air gradually and then hold steady at 8KG/cm2 for 12min and counting. Looking good I’d say.I’d give full stars if the unit is made same dimension as the smallest measure for people with limited storage space. (Shrink the handle/protection cage further)Afterthoughts: (few uses after)Still great and quiet unit. Perfect for condo users. But if space is not a concern, get a bigger tank unit. I use it as air blower to clean dust off equipment and it lasts only briefly on continuous blowing. (But footprint is a concern for me so I have to adjust). I left 90psi in the tank over night intentionally and after 10 hours it is still the same. Very satisfied.

Excelente.

Nice Little Compressor
Every bit as quiet as advertised.
