Generic For Samsung Galaxy SIII i9300 / Screen Glass Lens - Dark Blue

I got a small crack on my screen, found out that it would cost me $150 to replace it, and decided to just live with it.... that is, until my son pulled my phone out of my pocket and shattered it on the asphalt. So at that point, I really had nothing to lose and ordered this replacement glass.It took about three weeks to arrive. Not too bad. On the recommendation of others, I had also ordered the replacement tape ahead of time; I didn't need it. The leftover adhesive was enough to re-stick the glass.Like others have mentioned, the tools were largely useless. The little plastic guitar pick things kept popping out when I tried to wedge them in and pry up the glass. I used a paring knife and a mini-screwdriver after a half-hour struggling with the supplied tools and had much better success. The little green scrapers were very helpful to remove any excess glue from the screen, though. I'd love to give this a 5-star review... but unfortunately, my glass arrived with some micro-abraisons on the underside, resulting in a hazy look on a few small sections of the screen. It's really only noticeable when the screen is off or in bright sunlight, so I'll deal. Much better than a shattered screen that has left slivers of glass in my hand.

Like many others who received this item and noted that there were heavy scratches on the screen or the screen was actually cloudy after installation let me tell you this...I found that there is a second layer of protective coating on the "inside" (the side that glues to the phone).When I first received my glass I was pissed that there were scratches on it and had to wait for the return. An acquaintance of mine (who does screen replacements all the time) told me to look closely and see if there was a second layer of protection. Sure enough there was! I peeled that off and the screen was super clear and free of scratches.So if you have bought this or looking to purchase this and get the item and its scratched, take a look for that second coat.Screen aside, I ordered this item, however it was filled by iParts Outlet, and DID NOT come with the tools. Luckily I just used a regular razor blade to get the screen started and finished with a couple of guitar picks.

This is EXACTLY what I needed! I purchased a Galaxy S3 with a cracked screen from a co-worker because I knew I would be able to repair it myself. Upon receiving the item I checked to make sure that the color matched, which it did. The swap went smoothly thankfully, and now I have pretty much a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 for a whopping $24 including the new screen! Thank's so much!OH! Also they send you a little ziplock bag full of helpful tools! The tools are basically jewelers tools (size wise) but you WILL need most, if not all of them in order to swap your screen if you're attempting to do it yourself!

The product was shipped quickly and arrived in about a week. The removal of the original cracked screen was pretty simple with a heat gun (on low setting...). Watch videos online and TAKE YOUR TIME. No need to rush. Had the old screen off in about 10 minutes. Go slow when you are working around the lower part of the screen (home/menu/back buttons...). The menu & back buttons are just wire feeds so you need to be careful not to cut or overheat the area. After cleaning the finger prints off the touch area with the microfiber towel, I dry/test fitted the new screen multiple times. No matter how many times installed the new screen it would not fit within the phones frame. It always stuck up just a bit over the frame. Basically, the screen is a "hair" too big for the phone frame. This does not prevent the phone from working. The touch area on the screen still works just fine. But since the screen is riding on the phone frame just a bit, it's not fully seated along one side of the phone. This has cause the new screen to crack in the corners after just one week of daily use (no drops, only placing it in a shirt pocket...).I would recommend this product as a replacement for a really cracked screen. But if you only have small cracks on the side, just leave it alone. Replacing the screen is not hard but if the replacement is not the right side (i.e. too big...) it will just crack again.

Just by looking at it, you would never tell that my screen was cracked. It is a little intense to get the old screen off but with a little patience, the screen can be heated with a hair dryer and popped off very carefully. Also the buttons on the bottom are very delicate. By the 3M 2mm tape and just pull the black tape off around the edges because this is very difficult to get to pay flat again. I used a touch of DW-40 to clean the screen then several micro fiber clothes. Great product, great fix.

I have replace iPhone glass before due to breakage and this is much easier to replace, and much more reliable to replace since you are only impacting the face of the phone and not the internals. You have to be very careful to not get contamination on the glass below. Also, the adhesive gets reused so be careful to minimize damage when removing the old glass. The new one seems a bit less responsive than the old in a couple areas on the phone but it seems to be getting better over time. I would recommend this as a solution. A heat gun would work best but I did it with a hair dryer and it worked just fine.

Great quality product. Easy install. Tools that come with it are not really necessary, but are a plus. In the youtube tutorials, they show the old screen taken off with a big razor type thing. I found if you use something like floss or fishing line, you can use it when you pick up the screen on top a little and slid it down slowly. To me , it makes things easier.Overall, very, very fast shipping from seller. and great looking quality product.

the product fits well and the adhesive tape you buy separately will hold it on, but getting your old screen off is not exactly easy. i didn't realize that the exacto knife had ahold of the actual screen below and busted it altogether so i had to go and purchase a whole new phone. has that not happened, i think this repair kit would have worked well - just depends if you want to take the chance or not!
