For their debut full-length Forever, this San Francisco duo pairs classic pop structures with modern electronic production to create instantly memorable melodies that show no sign of their virtual patchwork beginnings.

perfect.
Buoyant intelligent pop. Heard them first loudly from a nearby neighbor and thought "what is this amazing music that makes me dance on such a hot day when I'm working?" Sophisticated and sexy in an ELO or Roxy Music way. Not that the record actually sounds much like those bands...more like Pet Sounds mixed by Brad Laner and Stephen Merritt really. Derivation comparisons in reviews are lazy if sometimes helpful. Painted Palms is layered with beautiful vocals with lyrics that are sensitive but not emo-sentimental even if first hearing of "Angels" makes you cry a little. My favorite find of the 2000-teens.

bouncy electro-pop with some friendly distorted synthesizer
San Francisco debut of joyous, bouncy electro-pop with some friendly distorted synthesizer bleeps & beats over rhythmic melodies, catchy hooks and inviting vocal harmonies. Consistent smatterings of 60s psych/pop lend some warmth and retro-fun to the overall feel, which seamlessly integrates some experimental atmospherics into the core of bliss. Similarities to Of Montreal, Girls, Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power, Mutual Benefit, the Beatles.
