STANLEY SCS-52 Jet 52cc 18' Petrol Chainsaw, Yellow

Seen the other reviews and think I need to defend this saw.I had 50 bit trees down due to storm Barra and this coped more than well.More than 10 tonnes of logged trees later I am sure I would buy another. Have used all of the main manufacturers over the years (which are sometimes 300% more expensive),yet if you get the fuel mix correct this is now my go to medium sized work horse.

I used it 6 times for about 20 minutes each and it broke. I took it to be fixed and was told that the parts that are broken are no longer made by Stanley so the chainsaw is now scrap. I contacted Stanley directly and this is what they told me. Here's the transcript of the online chat. (09:51:47) AILIE DAPITAN: We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your tool. Unfortunately, as much as we would like to assist, since we do not manufacture this directly we do not have any record or reference about the product.This brings us to the reason for directing you to the retailer as they are the one who has the record of which distributor they purchased this from so you can get assisted. (09:52:30) AILIE DAPITAN: We would appreciate your understanding on the limitations we have for this line of product. (09:53:10) Dougie Marks: That is unacceptable from such a big brand. (09:53:32) Dougie Marks: So it's not a Stanley product at all? (09:53:43) Dougie Marks: It was sold to me under false pretences of being so (09:54:12) Dougie Marks: This is deception at its finest. (09:54:20) Dougie Marks: How is that legal? (09:54:26) AILIE DAPITAN: Apologies for any inconvenience it may caused. The product is sold under global licensed of STANLEY. (09:55:00) Dougie Marks: I'll be checking with consumer rights and coming back to the company. (09:55:05) AILIE DAPITAN: This is manufactured by a partner company, not directly from us. (09:55:16) Dougie Marks: So it's a deception (09:55:54) Dougie Marks: Stanley make money from companies using their name who make cheaply manufactures junk (09:55:58) Dougie Marks: and the consumer looses out. (09:56:10) Dougie Marks: What a way to run a company! (09:57:06) Dougie Marks: I'm sure Stanley are very adept at making sure that they are not breaking any laws with this, but a bit of bad press will make them think twice about this way of working. Did not start after following the instructions down to the T. Should have listened to the reviews.

Heavy but ok if you don’t have to lug it about far! Which I unfortunately do

Stanley are a growing company with top new products like this chainsaw use it once a week
