Great Flood Bags
I purchased these Flood Bags which were a great price for the bucket amount you receive to place in front of my Lanai Sliding & back door due to flooding from a very recent storm called Debby. They did the job so well. I placed one by the drain to the front of the house & the garage door. I highly recommend this product to give you peace of mind during Hurricanes or Storms. I would think they would also work if you had a flood in your home. Awesome product! Thank You Quick Dam!

Everyone should have this
I learned about quick damn during the Hillary storm in Aug. Luckily my nom was smart and purchased a few of them at Lowes. She has mobility issues and is older so getting sand bags wasnt an option for her. The ease in using them and the fact they worked so well during that storm, I decided to purchase this kit for my mom for future possible flooding. Everyone should have this in their emergency kit.

Great for leaks and plumbing problems. Keep on hand for emergencies!
Got this to keep on hand for our basement level restaurant in case of flooding. It worked like a charm. Had enough to keep the 1200sf space dry. They do need to soak up water before they really start working. In a sudden flood the barriers just floated away until they soaked up some water. But, great for helping to keep the space relatively unscathed once they activated. Our neighbors suffered pretty intense damage. But we remained pretty dry.

Should be in everyone's garage or basement
These deliver exactly as promised. They look like lightweight sleeve (think a postal Jiffy bag), but with a trace of water, swell up with a gel inside. No leakage that I've seen. The mix of sizes, from single bag about the size of a milk carton to 6 foot long tubes that are great for redirecting water as much as blocking it. Have had these outside all sumner , without any degradation in performance (they just start to shrink when dry, swell when wet.)These are good for standard home emergency's (leaking washer, over flowing basement stairwell), but not for real broken levee type of flood control. They are still relatively small/thin/light (think like an overstuffed firehose) and don't have the stackable heft of a true sandbag. You also probably want to buy more than you think you need. But that's also their beauty - dry or wet, they are easy to move or store.Saved my bacon (and kept the basement dry) more than a couple of times in this ultra wet DC summer. Recommended.

They DO work, but there are a lot of things I wish I'd understood
So, I just went through Hurricane Sally with these things. They did work, and I'm not saying there is false information on the listing, but there are some things to understand. First, this listing is for a combo pack of two sizes. Unfortunately, they are not just different lengths, they are different widths. You can't really effectively stack them on top of each other. If I were doing this again, I would have chosen one of the sizes and gotten more of them. The smaller ones are not at all uniform. Granted, I had them stacked all wonky, nevertheless, they were all subjected to a deluge and only two of the ten puffed up to what I assume is full size. (I show one of the "puffed" ones and four of the flatter ones in one of the pics.) The others stayed relatively flat, and if I had been using them solo, I'm not sure they would have gotten cumulatively tall enough to control the water. All five of the long ones puffed up properly, but because they are almost round, it would have been very hard to stack them.I contacted the company about the fact that eight of the small ones stayed relatively flat, and their response was that I should have sprayed them first to activate them. I almost fell over. I certainly was not going to spray even more water onto the ground in a hurricane, and it's impossible to imagine that I could have saturated them better by spraying them than Mother Nature was doing with the deluge of rain we were getting. So that made no sense to me and I think there was simply much less of the gel substannce in the marjority of the bags I received.Once the storm is over there is more to keep in mind. Apparently drying them in the sun destroys them. They have to dry in the shade, or indoors. Of course, they take up quite a bit of room. They also can't be dried on unsealed stone or concrete, because they will stain it. Since I am pretty sure most of the seal on my stonework was worn off, I had to get a huge piece of plastic to lay them on to dry them. The only area of permanent shade I have in my yard is under my pergola, so now these things are going to be sitting next to my outdoor dining table, drying for the rest of the summer/fall/winter - because apparently it can take 3-6 MONTHS for them too dry. And no, they will never be foldable again and fit back in their handy bucket. (Those white things are old plastic fence posts that I set them on hoping they would dry faster.)So, buyer be forewarned. They DO work. But I wonder if good old-fashioned sandbags would have been just as good.

Amazing
We had our first hurricane and thought we were fully prepped. Rain was coming down so hard and fast even the cleared drain couldn't keep up. Water was backing up and flooding the garage so I put these down. A single layer kept water from going into the garage and really saved us. So glad we bought them.
