Perfect for a small room
Works as advertised. All in all I am satisfied with it. It's great for a small room like a bedroom but not recommended for lighting up a large living room area by itself.The minor criticisms that I have are that the instruction sheet included had me confused at first. Going by the diagram, I thought a piece was missing at the base when it was actually showing to remove the cover sleeve before attaching the rod. It says so on the sticker, but the instructions make it look more like there's something that goes between the rod and the base.The other issue is that it doesn't work with a remote control outlet even with the power left on. Apparently when main power is cut, the power will go back to the "off" state each time. This isn't a deal killer but I would have loved to use it with a remote outlet instead of manually pushing the button every time.

This is a very cool looking lamp
This is a very cool looking lamp. Everyone who sees it - is drawn to it and comments on it. It is sleek. The lighting is very soft even though it has 3 levels on the dimmer. I bought it for my office and even though it adds light - it is not bright. You would need to bend it right over your desk if you needed brightness. It is great if you were not looking for a bright light.

I don't know why I didn't just go with a traditional lamp. This just had a unique look to it. Its surprisingly bright but definitely does not put out as much light as a halogen lamp, but I was expecting that. Its still kind of cool to look at and also does not emit the heat that the others do, which is great for me since I normally need a fan pointed at me even during the winter. I should see a doctor about that... you think that's a thyroid issue? Anyway, the only drawback for me is the dimmer options. With no on/off switch (uses a touch sensor), it defaults to "off" which means I can't turn it on with the wall switch. Or at least it doesn't for me. I'd assume it won't for you. Or I just need to play around with it more. I don't know, its in one of the bedrooms but I usually fall asleep on the couch watching TV.

Sleek, Stylish, Modern
This lamp is actually perfect for lighting up a small bedroom. I've a small bedroom in a small apartment and this lights up the room adequate on the highest setting. I use it as my primary source of light. The material used doesn't feel cheap either. The stem of the light is has a solid metal feeling to it. I've already gotten lots of complements on how cool and modern it looks. If you supplement with a desk lamp or bedside lamp as well, you'll easily make your room quite bright.I wouldn't recommend as a primary source of light for a large room, but it's perfect for a small bedroom.One downside is that it doesn't seem to work with a half-hot outlet (Can't use a light switch to turn it on). So you'll need to physically turn it on each time. It's not a big deal as the power button is right at the neck of the light before the square part of the fixture.All in all, it's a wonderful product, would definitely recommend for anyone trying to light up a small room, or even use as some accent lighting for a modern decoration piece.Oh, and assembly is super simple, didn't even need to look at the instructions.

practical design and they look great. The ability to set the brightness as needed ...
This is my 3rd BrightTech lamp. I am gradually replacing all portable lighting with BrightTech lamps as they are of high quality, practical design and they look great. The ability to set the brightness as needed and never having to replace light bulbs are features that I really appreciate.Anyone who visits my humble residence comments on the lamps and they usually want one for themselves. I don't know where else to purchase them other than Amazon so that is where I send them.So far, I have the desk lamp with magnifier glass (for crafts work), a flexible goose neck (at my computer desk) and the Eclipse floor lamp at a work-table. I have not had any problems with any of them and recommend them highly.

If this is the only light in your room, it isn't bright enough
I put this product in my bedroom, which is smaller than 12 feet by 12 feet. It is pretty bright and pretty comfortable, but it isn't quite bright enough. If you want to do anything like reading or working, you'll want something brighter or a supplementary light.To clarify on using electrical outlets with switches: this light does not work with them. Here is why: if you turn off the outlet while the light is on, the light turns off; no problem. But when you switch on the outlet, the light does not switch on! You must go to the light's switch just below the ring and turn it on manually.Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with this light. It's very stylish haha.

Catches a lot of eyes
The lamp makes a statement in my office and grabbed everybody's attention immediately, when passing my office. I wanted something different, as well as serving overall purpose to provide lower ambient lighting than what i currently have. This lamp does that, on all counts.Took me 2 minutes tops, to put the lamp together and get it turned on. So it is very easy to setup and get positioned.Only negative, which is really based on my personal preference, is that the lamp is not as bright as I thought it would be. I have a 9x12 office and was hoping for a much brighter forecast across the room. It really only provides the perfect amount of lighting (reading a book brightness), just within a few feet of its stand. No way i could read a book more than 4 feet away at its brightest setting. Again, that is just me and others may have other perspective.The light switch to turn on/off and dim the bulb stopped working after a few days, so i couldn't dim the light anymore. I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement quickly. Easy and courteous customer service and I look forward to this lamp catching passerby attention for years to come. :)

Transform dark and dreary into light and airy
WOW....this is ingenious. There is no way to really understand how spectacular this sun lamp is until you have transform a dark space into a beautiful lighted area. I am using it in my basement for my meditation area and it is absolutely perfect. Makes me feel like the sun is shining. The three settings of light are just right. And you only have to slide your finger slightly over the switch to turn it on or change the setting. I plan on buying several more of these to transform every dark space I have!
