Love this bag! Though it was made for fighter pilots, I have found many uses for it. I use it as a referee bag. I’ve even used it as a weekend, bag for a trip to Vegas! It fits well under the seat in front of you the strap is high-quality in the bag is very high-quality. I like that. It has for side pockets to them zippered so I can use one as a valuable pouch when I go out and ref. It’s a perfect size.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT BAG

Now I'm not an aviator and I don't use this for helmets, instead, I use it as a general purpose "Go-Bag" when I don't want to carry around a back-pack. PROS: + Durable. I had this loaded down with several boxes of 00 buckshot and other gear and carabinered it to the inside of a Polaris we were using for hunting feral hogs. No matter how much we bounced around, the handles didn't show any stress of the added weight. + The two small zippered pockets are very useful. Wish my military-issued ones had them! Perfect size for extra sunglasses! + Velcro on inside pockets. This is something not found on all bags like these. + Bigger than your typical helmet bag. Great for stuffing that extra warm layer in there, along with a full Nalgene, headphones, and other "necessities".... CONS: - The material is really stiff and quite "noisy". I've tried washing it a few times in hopes it would soften up. But it hasn't. - It came with a shoulder strap. Seriously. I guess some would find this usefull, I just ended up trashing it. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Flyboys black helmet bag was well-packaged and arrived on time. Really like the XL deeper bag with more pockets, especially the two small zippered ones next to the padded handles on the outside of the bag. Perfect as a "go bag" as well as a trip to the gym. Would recommend and buy again.

Very much like the Navy flier's helmet bag of the 1980s. Using it for an XXL Shoei modular motorcycle helmet. Just fits exactly with enough room for winter gloves.

Good quality bag

Roomy, soft interior to prevent scratches , outer pockets use Velcro , strong . Main concern is that those outer pockets are thin, feel they wouldn’t carry much and could easily tear .

I ordered this helmet bag for my Flexwing pilot’s helmet & headset so that they would be more protected when stored and also so that I could use the shoulder strap to hang the helmet & headset in a way that secured it well while driving in my van. As I am a wheelchair user the shoulder strap was also to enable me to hang them of the back of my wheelchair while still giving the kit inside good protection too. I had read about a lot of other options before ordering this helmet bag and, while it costs substantially more than the more main stream options available for motorcycle helmets, I decided to incur the extra expense as this was the only option that I found that referred specifically to a flight helmet and also appeared to have the larger internal cavity that would be needed. Having now been using this helmet bag for a couple of weeks it has proved to be well worth the expenditure and I now feel that the helmet, headset and other essential cold weather gear are well protected and much easier to transport safely. In summary: 1) The main cavity for the helmet is well lined so seems to protect the helmet & headset well 2) The helmet bag seems well constructed and outer fabric seems robust as does the stitching and handle attachments etc. 3) It looks as if it will be easy to keep the bag looking smart via wiping it down too. 4) A couple of the external pockets seem very secure as there is a fold-over velcro strip to fasten them closed (which therefore took a while to find as they were so well secured that it was initially hard to open them) indicating they are likely to be very secure if I decide to risk keeping my flight log and pilot’s licence to hand via storing them in the helmet bag too. 5) The 7 external and internal pockets are also great to keep all the additional equipment organised (gloves, balaclava and neck fleece, audio cables, action cameras etc) that is needed when flying Flexwing and adding comms audio to any filming that occurs. I would definitely recommend this helmet bag and am pleased to finally be able to throw away the increasingly battered cardboard box that I had been using to transport this flying kit around for a couple of years now.
