Stability: A Biofilter Essential
Seachem Stability is a great product, very simple as it is that great nitrifying bacteria that turns fish waste or food from Ammonia to Nitrites and to Nitrates. Ammonia and Nitrites are severely toxic to fish so establishing a tank with this or seeding it with an already established sponge filter is essential to avoid "new tank syndrome" I have been using Seachem products and stability for months but stability and their prime has been staples for every water change to avoid a cycle crash among my API freshwater liquid master test kit. None of their products mess with water clarity, you will see a slight distortion as they settle into the water collumn, although this disperses rather quickly. I highly recommend.

Easy to Use and Works as Intended
This stabilizer has been simple to use and fits smoothly into regular aquarium maintenance. Dosing is clear, and it integrates well when setting up or maintaining a tank. It’s performed consistently with no issues and does exactly what it’s designed to do. The bottle size is practical and should last through multiple uses. Straightforward, reliable, and effective.

Excellent product
Works great! I was having issues with the nitrite being converted to nitrates because of lack of proper bacteria. I followed the 7 day dosage cycle and this completely turned the tank around. It’s stable and fully cycled now.

Great product that really improves water chemistry and clarity
I originally started ordering this Seachem product to stabilize my fresh water chemistry in which it does wonderfully. However, no Im hooked on it as it makes my water so clear. I added this product to my subscription list. Highly recommended. 55 gallon tank with many community fish that got much larger than i expected.

It seems fine, but won't cycle a biofilter like it claims.
I'm sure Seachem Stability works well to stabilize and maintain a biofilter as it's advertised, but don't believe the hype that it will instantly cycle your biofilter. Sure, it can help get things off the ground by seeding the filter media with bacteria, but don't expect a colony of nitrifying bacteria in 24 hours or something ridiculous. When used with Seachem Prime you could probably reasonably perform a fish-in cycle in 7-10 days, but I'm in the camp that believes a fishless cycle with ammonium chloride and live plants is ideal. Having said that I found significantly better results using Fritz TurboStart 700 to kick off my nitrogen cycle. Stability didn't get me any results after a week using their recommended loading dose and maintenance dose. I'm somewhat certain it actually gave me a surface biofilm that I've never experienced before when using it to start a nitrogen cycle. Once the cycle has kicked off, I've diligently used Stability to 'maintain' my biofilter by adding it with water changes and stocking new animals. It's never given me problems, but it's honestly difficult to gauge how well it performs as there's no water test that can be done to see what kind of impact it makes to an already established tank. I suppose if you have a catastrophic crash in your biofilter or perhaps overload it you could measure its before-and-after performance with ammonia and nitrite tests, but thankfully I haven't experienced anything like that. I'll continue to use Stability, Prime, and Pristine in maintenance doses as suggested because as far as I know, it's working as intended, and making changes to a stable environment is a recipe for disaster. I just haven't had luck with it kick-starting the nitrogen cycle. For that I'd put my faith in Fritz TurboStart (or FritzZyme)

Great!
This stuff works great! I can see why it is recommended for axolotl tanks!
