A distinctive and pleasantly fresh taste
I have always loved drinks made with white rum, and the Brazilian/Portuguese mixed drink made with it - Caipirinha - is definitely my favourite. Price is about normal for a decent Spirit. Considering this product had to come all the way from Brazil, I regard that as good value.By itself the rum can be drunk as an aperitif OR as a digestif - with ice.

Brasilian alternative to rum
Best known for its role in Caipirinha, Cachaça is a rum like spirit that is super popular across Brazil and other parts of South America but hasn't yet made a dent in the UK. I checked it out to see whether it's likely we'll be converted.This is a large bottle of the spirit at 1L but with a screw top you don't have to drink it all in one go. In terms of colour, it is light in tone and slightly yellowy. Taste is slightly sweet but not too strong, generally quite similar to rum.Overall then, I can see this going well with a range of cocktails or being enjoyed on its own.
