Good product. Good value.
Great wool shirt for wearing up it as a pajama shirt around the house, assuming your house is in the 60s or low 70s. Also good as the top with jeans. Much softer than the smart wool products. We will see how durability is. Update: Have worn this half the nights for th past two months. Very comfortable and warm. Could not be happier. Perfect for sleeping!

The perfect wool thin base layer - THAT'S WARM!
My husband is allergic to lots of fibers - he really only likes 100% cotton and wool and thankfully they don't irritate his skin. He LOVES this base layer - it's super warm, super SOFT, and very durable. I like how thin it is, while also providing a good warm layer. He immediately wanted to see if there was other colors offered. It was SO MUCH cheaper than some of the other online brands. Super happy with this purchase for him.

Initially very impressed by the quality, long term durability yet to be seen
Upon first impression, I'm extremely impressed by the quality for the price. I own a Smartwool 250 gsm baselayer that I really like, and luckily I got it on sale for $71 after tax, however Smartwool's regular price is $100. Compare that to this 250 gsm Meriwool base layer which is a regular price of $60 as of this writing, the value of Meriwool brand is substantial. Very soft, smooth, quality merino. Fits great. I closely examined the seams, and, wow, they are sewn perfectly. Stitching and seams feel hefty and robust. I am extremely impressed by Meriwool's quality for the price!! It's an outstanding piece for sure. Time will tell how it holds up on the durability aspect. I will try to remember to come back and edit this review at a later time once I've put it through the wringer so I can comment on long term durability. But for now, initial impressions are that this Meriwool base layer is absolutely awesome for the price. If you're on the fence about trying Meriwool, I would totally recommend you give it a shot. The quality is superb. EDIT: 2 year update. Still going strong! My only complaint is that it runs a little small in the arms and torso length. I’m tall and thin 6’3”, and the Medium fits well around my body but the arms and torso need to be longer. I wish they made a Medium Tall version.

My New Favorite
I bought this shirt in a men's Large (I am female) because I was hoping for a shirt with more length in the body and sleeves than a traditional women's shirt, and I got exactly what I was hoping for. I have quite a few wool 'base layer' shirts, and this one is as good as any of them. The color ('Sand' - a café au lait color with subtle striations) is lovely and very versatile in my wardrobe. I wear this as a lightweight wool sweater (jumper), so for me it is an outer layer and not a base layer. But even though it's lightweight, it's very warm. And because it's 100% merino wool, I know it will be cool in the warmer weather as well. I am going back to see if they have some other colors I might fancy, and if they do, I will be getting another... or two. Some notes on care - I wash my wool sweaters in an impellor* washer, using a mesh laundry bag and cold or cool water, with ordinary laundry detergent. I dry them on a hanger and pop them back into the closet. I have had no problems. At the end of the season, I pack them away flat to allow the wool fibers to rest over the summer. So I think the care is a lot easier than most people imagine. *I mentioned that my washer is an impellor model because I wouldn't try to do this in an agitator washer, but I have never tried it, so perhaps I am being over-cautious.

Great for backpacking trip
I bought this item plus bottoms plus t-shirts all Merino Wool for my son and husband for a 4 night backpack trip. All items fit as expected and performed great. They wore the long tops and bottoms at night which kept them toasty warm, and then the t-shirts while we hiked...all 5 days in the same shirt - no stink and no washing in the lakes no losing shape. I did wash the shirts before we left for our trip - which made them feel softer on the skin. They are very comfortable to wear (even with a 45-50 lb pack). I did not dry them in the dryer though even though the tag says I can. I have a different brand for myself that says dryer safe, however the dryer shrank my bottoms and I didn't want to risk it with these items. They are heavier than a performance top or a standard cotton t-shirt, but that's to be expected because they are wool.

Thinner than expected but still quality.
I noticed a quality thickness reduction on what supposedly was the same product that I bought years ago for about the same price. It was also a lighter shade of green. But despite an apparent thinner base layer that the other, it’s quality. It fits snugly- looks good if you don’t mind tight.

These are a fantastic base layer
These are a fantastic base layer. Not too heavy, and not too light, just perfect. I got the top and bottoms and I use them for extremely active outdoor sports. These things are seriously pretty magical. I swear that they keep me warm when I'm starting to get chilly, but somehow also seem to cool me down when I am sweaty. These things dry very quickly and unlike my other synthetic expensive baselayers, these don't leave me feeling clammy, and then freezing. These are warm even if you are soaking wet with sweat, and if that happens, just keep walking or being active and they will dry with your body heat. I used these in Afghanistan as a winter base layer, I use them for backpacking (to hike in or to sleep in to extend the range of my sleeping bag), and I also use them under my foul weather gear for sailing in Maine. Awesome product and they fit true to size. I'm 5'10" and 200lbs athletic muscular build and the size large in top and bottom fit great.

Awesome product
I took these to Illinois for a bow hunting trip in November. Being born and raised in the south, I have never experienced cold like I did that week. I used my Meriwool as a base layer on two of the days I was there. If you’re looking for a miracle fabric that will keep you warm under any weather conditions, keep looking. What I will say about them is, they do keep you dry. Walking a ways with a tree stand on your back you tend to sweat. On the days I wore these, I didn’t notice the after effects of the cold caused from being wet. They are very well made and they do not make you itch. The quality is excellent. Today I wore them once again on a local hunt in Eastern NC. Temp was 38. They worked perfect as a baselayer and in warmth. If you are going to use these in extremely low temps, upgrade to a heavier weight fabric. If it’s say 32 and above, I’d highly recommend these. I will buy a couple more pairs but at least one will be the heavy weight ones. Scott

Impressive warmth and wicking.
I have used this too for hiking in mixed weather. It is comfortable and easy to wear. Not itchy in the slightest. Wicking is great. It’s also good to wear casually. Tried to buy another but OOS for the moment.
