Review: My son recently picked up mountain bike racing as a hobby. Go figure, after one of his races him and his teammates were trying different tricks they learned. This is just after he had the mechanic put spiked pedals on his bike. Needless to say, it took all of 5 minutes for one of his coaches to walk me to the medical tent. The medical crew told me he would need stitches for the two deep lacerations he had (something they don’t on-site). They cleaned up the wounds and wrapped ‘em. After thanking them, my son whispered to me, “Mom, please, is there anything else that can be done? I really don’t want stitches again”. It was clear my son was scared to get stitches on his shin. His race was over, so we dipped out early. We could either go to the Urgent Care down the street or go get lunch. I looked at his lacerations at the car and determined they could get by with some butterfly bandages for the time being. I did a quick search and found this alternative to stitches. Amazing! Not only was I able to overnight them (they arrived at 5am the next morning), but we were able to avoid stitches (The first and last time my son got stitches the doctor couldn’t care less for how he stitched him. When we returned for the follow-up, a different doctor saw him. She was not impressed by the other doctor’s care). This was a long-winded and pointless way of saying: Yes, these bandages really work wonders! Yes, they are expensive, but cheaper than a visit to urgent care care! And while there is a video on how to apply, I do wish it was a little more detailed. I messed up the first application (an expensive mess up). It’s been a month since the incident and my son’s lacerations healed beautifully. Yes, there will be scarring; but because these bandages aren’t intrusive and didn’t lead to swelling (like the stitches did), this really allowed for the body to work its magic. Couldn’t be happier! I think this is something everyone should have in their First Aid kit, along with butterfly bandages. Full send! 🚲

**Q: How many of each size strip are included?**
A: Hello.  Thank you for your question.  There are 3 Clozex closure devices in the Emergency Laceration kit; one 3/4" (20mm), one 1 1/8" (30mm), one 1 1/2" (40mm).  A single device matching the approximate wound length can be used alone or multiple devices can be aligned side by side to close longer length wounds.

**Q: Are these latex-free?**
A: Yes they are!

**Q: Does it go in the center first? I’m going to need to use all 3 pieces**
A: You may have purchased a pack that contains 3 closures. Use 1 closure for the wound. There are online videos showing how to use. These are fantastic once you learn how to place and close properly. The wound heals faster and much less scaring than if only using medical glue and butterfly closures. Also, replaces stitches.

**Q: Are these hypoallergenic?**
A: I don't know, but I had no reaction, and I am usually very allergic to tape.

These work perfectly! I ordered them to replenish our first aid kit. We spend time in a remote village in Costa Rica. I have been called upon many times by my neighbours for medical assistance.
