Authentic Herodian Clay Oil Lamp – Handmade in the Holy Land This is a fully functional Biblical clay oil lamp , carefully modeled after lamps used in the Holy Land during the time of Jesus . Each piece is crafted by skilled artisans in Bethlehem , capturing the faith and history of ancient times. Inspired by Byzantine and Herodian period discoveries made between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, this lamp represents a true connection to the world of the Bible. It comes with a woven wick and a Certificate of Authenticity confirming its origin and craftsmanship. Simply fill the lamp with olive oil and light the wick to experience the warm, gentle glow similar to what families would have seen over 2,000 years ago. Please place it on a small saucer as some seepage may occur — this is a normal feature of authentic clay. Each lamp is handmade and individually finished , so color shades and patterns may vary slightly, making every piece unique. No two lamps are exactly alike, a reminder of the individuality and devotion of handcrafting in the Holy Land. This Christian and Judaica gift embodies the spirit of faith, light, and history . Perfect for prayer spaces, Bible study, Hanukkah displays, or as a meaningful keepsake from the land where faith began. Made in Bethlehem – a timeless Holy Land souvenir and a cherished symbol of faith and heritage.

Arrived broken
The handle was broken and in pieces. The picture is also misleading on the size.

They all seep oil - be aware. Put a plate under and be ready to swipe off the seeped oil with use.
Just a friendly heads-up, you'll need a plate under this lamp as it's porous and seeps a little oil at the beginning. I don't know if same happens over time. I used it numerous times as well as other olive oil lamps. They all seep oil. Just be informed. It is normal.
