Hi If your Lipo charger does not have the balanced charging option and just charges your battery regular, then you can utilize the balance feature on this device to balance and even out each cell to promote life of the battery.Thanks for letting me help you .

just received my unit and I can not figure out how the servo tester part works?

You need a Y-harness to connect both a battery and a servo into the top test port. The battery supplies the power to the meter and the servo. The meter produces the pulses. A long hold on the cell button will select the servo mode, then the left and right keys will decrease and increase the pulse width, which is displayed on the screen. Works very well.

Question 3

How does one connect a LiPo battery to this?  Has no connection instructions and pins are numbered only.

Your LiPo battery has two connectors, a tamiya type connector that plugs into the device, and a second connector that connects to the charger. It is this connector that attaches to this device.  See all those little pins on the right side? Those slide into the charging connector of the battery and provide power to the meter. If it isn't turning on, flip the connector over and try it on the other side. There will be unused pins unless the battery is utterly massive. I have a 7.4v that uses I think 3 pins and a 11.1v that uses five.

Will this check the voltage of the 1s 3.7v 180mah 45c li-po batteries that my blade nano uses, without needing any adapter wires or plugs?

My 1S batteries micro jst plug is not soldered directly to the battery, it has a pigtail unlike the blade, so I am able to plug directly in. You might need an adapter to connect to the the NiMH/Cd plug which will read the voltage on 1S batteries but wasn't accurate for me when compared to charger and multimeter.
