Scotch brand painters tape, so many more uses than painting
I have used this brand masking tape for years, having tried less expensive off brands and more expensive “deluxe” brands I keep coming back to this one. If applied properly when masking a room to paint, press down firmly when applying, there is minimum to little paint bleed through. I have found that you really need to peal off the tape when your paint is still damp though to avoid the paint from sticking to it. I have also had different tape stick to the surfaces too well and take off dried paint or leave sticky residue, this paint does not do either. I use this tape quite an lot on my outdoor decor, signs and plaques to touch them up when faded. I can gingerly apply the tape, so as to not take off previous decorations/paint and use sharpies and paint pens to make straight lines or cut the tape in designs to leave blank spaces. So many DIY uses involving arts and crafts. However, my primary use for masking tape, is to label food for the freezer or to take places. When putting food in the freezer I always apply masking tape to the top and at least one side dating and labeling the dish. When I take food to my elderly parents, I wrap the tape around at least once to hold the lid on during transport. In addition to the date and food inside I also add cooking temp and direction, such a simple, economical way with items always on hand, scotch brand masking tape and a black sharpie. At around $0.04 cents a foot you really can’t find a more versatile masking tape. I definitely recommend Scotch Painter's Tape Original Multi-Surface Painter's Tape.

Landlord's Best Friend
My wife and I have to paint a lot. We own several rent houses and painting goes with the territory. There is nothing that can make a more dramatic improvement in a home's appearance and smell than a coat or two of fresh paint. This Scotch 3M blue painter's tape has long been the top name in the business. I know they have more adhesion levels and surface assignments, but this medium, multi surface is all we have ever needed. It will tackle everything as far as we're concerned. The tape takes to put on properly. There is just no getting around that. Even with the steadiest of hands, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This Scotch painter's tape goes down easily and tears off easily. The biggest rookie mistake that most DIYs make is not getting the tape right up to the wall or trim. So take your time. Even if you really miss the walls, this tape gives you 1 7/8" of grace. It is easy to pull up and the paint doesn't get behind the tape...assuming you wait until the paint is dry to remove the tape. In our area, there's not much choice but Scotch painter's tape. We get it at both big box stores and it saves us from getting our paint intended for the wall on our trim or the floor. Great value on these rolls too. 180 feet per roll let's you well cover a couple of rooms per roll. Recommended. Five stars.

A Little Flimsy, But Good Stuff
This is the classic blue painter's tape from 3M and works well in most situations. It is not as sticky as tape you might use to hold plastic drape in place, but stickier than the purple tape for delicate surfaces. This will pull paint off of those, but for most painted walls it does not. I also like the lack of residue left when I pull it off. My only critique is that it tears and shreds more than I remember it doing before. It often tears a strip off rather than the tape pulling cleanly in one piece off of a wall.
