LG Valve 5221ER1003A and 5220FR2075L

Thanks for the reviews from R. Johnson and Kevin Boettcher on the water hammer issue. It did eliminate the water hammer problem of my LG WM3250Hwa, which is almost 10 years old. I bought this replacement for my LG leaking cold inlet valve. Open the top cover; you can see that the cold water inlet device has 3 valves. The most lateral one that controls most cold water loads has lots of rust, and has a slow dripping. It seems its rust started quite a while ago. The other 2 cold inlet valves remain a new look. It makes sense to me that the water hammer effect has a close correlation with this leaking. The water hammer is more than just a sound problem. It creates abruptly high pressure along the pipe and its connected device. My internet research showed that LG washing machine is infamous for its hammer sound and leaking valves, and reluctance to fix this problem. My WM3250 has a load cold water inlet hammer sound, and its hot water valve does not. And its hot water valve now still looks new. I took precautions to this hammer issue many years after the purchase by closing halfway of the cold water faucet and installing 2 water hammer arrestors for the cold inlet. 1 arrestor only works a bit, and 2 work well. 1 installed on the machine and 1 on the faucet. The 2 hammer arrestors have worked for 2 years, and I noticed the bangs coming back recently at the first few inlet shutoffs. I called the LG service, and no useful information was provided, and I prepared to buy a new one after the call. While searching for new machine, I found a video on YouTube about a hot water inlet valve replacement for a LG washing machine and learned how to open the top cover by unscrewing only 2 screws and sliding it back. Installation is easy and quick. I elevated the machine's height by putting anti vibration pads in order to slide in a water pan and easy access to the bottom, or put a flooding sensor. Let's see how long this valve and the hot valve can go.

Great product it fits and works great

Perfect replacement for LG Front load washer model # WM2701HV. Very easy DIY fix (20-30 Min). Price was less than half of what Appliance part website had it listed. Arrived the next day. Washer up and running. this is the second time replacing this part on 16 year old washer. Last time was 4 years ago and at that time I purchased the more expensive part thinking it would last longer. Only time will tell how long this one lasts.

The valve is almost identical to the original one, fit and function exactly the same. Installation was easy, there were no instructions included, but once I removed the top cover of my LG washer, it was quite obvious how to remove the leaky valve and fit the new one. The holes in the mounting flange aligned well, and I had no problems in attaching the cold water inlet hose on the outside and the three rubber pipes on the inside. $25 and 10-15 minutes of work saved me at least 10x the amount I would have paid had I called a repairman

Day one with the valve installed. Washer back to working the way it should. No more 1E errors. If this last a good while, I'll up the rating a star. This part is identical, down to the stickers on it. to the original part that came out. This washer has had a couple of other parts failures. The Amazon replacement parts I've ordered have been identical or nearly identical to the original parts. One other part had a sticker over the factory sticker. I wouldn't call it easy to replace but it was far easier than say the drain pump. A few sharp metal traps to avoid getting to this. The LG is much better than most for sharp edges. Pliers and a screw driver required. Spring clamp pliers and needle nose pliers a bonus if you have those. Everything is accessible. Take a picture of the wires and hoses before touching anything. Take the spring clamps and hoses off while the old valve is still installed. Then remove the two screws from the back of the valve. Oh, don't forget to turn the water off and unplug the machine. Water and electricity are not a good combination.

This cold water inlet valve fit my Kenmore Elite Model 41482 washer perfectly. Except for the color of the housing, it looks identical to the OEM LG part (P/N 5221ER1003A) and looks and feels as good as OEM. It's also working as well as the OEM part and got our washer back into service. My original valve lasted an amazing 10 years before it started leaking. I'm not expecting this one to last that long, but if I could get half that, I'd be very pleased. Great part, great price, highly recommended.

I have a 10 year old LG machine that has had water hammer issues for years. 3 years after I bought the machine our warranty covered replacing the valve. Unfortunately, the valve itself was defective in design and the water hammer came right back. I installed water hammer arrestors on the machine which worked for a couple years before the noise came back (they are a temporary fix). Recently I started getting water under the machine. Took the top off and noticed it was leaking from the cold inlet valve. I ordered this part since it is a different part number but is able to replace mine (5221ER1003A) per the description. I'm not sure if this part came out after my machine model (and other LG models) had all the issues with water hammering or not. I am hoping that it is an upgraded part for LG machines and the water hammering issue has been fixed on this design. Time will tell. Day 1- the washer is nice and quiet ! Will update if the noise comes back. This was a breeze to install. I did not youtube or anything.. it was quite intuitive.

Fait très bien sur ma laveuse Kenmore 796.4027 âgé de 15 ans. Ce n'est pas la pièce d'origine mais a une fraction du prix de l'original, ça convient très bien étant donnée l'âge de ma laveuse. Très facile a changer. Livraison rapide d'Amazon comme d'habitude.

Compré la válvula en enero 2025 aprox. Y Hasta el momento hoy 14 de febrero ha funcionado bien.

This was a great product . My husband installed this in less then ten minutes on our LG washer . Any one could do this in a snap . Our cold water intake valve was leaking , this fixed our issue in a snap. Thank u again for selling something exactly as it’s described . It fit perfectly just like the original that the machine had on it. I recommend buying this . And I love the two year warranty . Better then any warranty the original manufacturer could give on there product .
