In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

its a shoe.
Yes. Its a shoe, but the design is just off. I think if you have long narrow feet and particularly long first and second toes it may fit well but otherwise it looks like a pixie shoe. The foot bed is very hard and unaccommodating and as long as it is in the toe, it is wide in the foot. I realize that I may have ordered my regular size and this shoe fits a little bigger, but this is a disproportionate amount of difference. I really don't like this shoe and I gave them a shot, literally out on the court thinking that inside is not a court despite how weird they actually look. They were worse on the court. I now have a medium priced shoe that I cannot use, will donate them. I am not sure if I am doing anyone a favor, but at least they will be free. Very disappointed in these shoes.

Top Notch Shoes for Tennis
These are the best shoes I've used for tennis and plan to only wear this style as long as ASICS makes it. The shoes are nice and flat on the bottom, so you have a lot of stability on the court yet the support inside the shoe is fantastic. I routinely walk the two miles to and from my court and my feet are still happy after walking and playing all day.Although the shoes have a lot of leather on them, there is a lot of exposed mesh, so the shoes breathe really well. I typically wear a size 9 in most shoes and these size 9s fit perfectly. I have just a hair of extra room at the toe, but it isn't enough to make me feel I need to go down a size. The sole is mostly white with a bit of grey but will not mark up the court.

Love these shoes on the tennis court!
The Asics Gel Resolution 4 has been my court shoe of choice for the past 6 months. I'd worn the Adidas Barricade 2s for several years and was looking for a lighter shoe that still offered great support. After researching and trying several new shoes I chose the Asics Gel Resolution. In the past I've had foot problems but have not had even a twinge of discomfort while wearing the Asics. This will sound silly, but I think I am a bit faster on the court in my new shoes. I just ordered a new pair so I felt comfortable writing a five star review. I have a narrow foot and found the Asics to fit true to size. If you are looking for a new tennis shoe, give these a try!

Nice right out of the box
I tried the ASICS , because that is the brand I use for fitness training. I've only been playing with them a couple of weeks, but love them. They felt great first day, no pinching or sore spots, no tired feet when done. I've had my prince shoes over a year, and they still kill my feet :( Will have to see how they hold up over time. They feel lighter than my others, but if my feet feel great, then I would rather replace them more often if needed. We'll see :)

Very comfortable
Runs a tad on the larger side. I felt very insecure at first, because I used to wear adidas Barricades, which are very substantial. Unfortunately they changed their fit, so I tried these. So comfortable and light! It may not be a shoe for somebody, who has ankle problems and needs a lot of support for tennis. They obviously come from running shoe designs. I'll buy them again, just half a size smaller.

Decent cross trainer
I am an AISCS fan for cross trainers and tennis shoes, though in general I feel like the tennis products break down pretty fast. It is one of the more comfortable tennis shoes on the market. I have very painful feet from foot surgeries; so I use this shoe when I am going to play a very hardcore singles match. But I do not use it to do my drills as I am trying to extend the life of the shoe. If they lasted longer I would only buy ASICS.

the best shoes I have ever had for tennis!
These shoes are so supportive, especially in the heal, I do not wake up with heal pain anymore after playing tennis for hours, I would recommend them to anyone that is an active tennis player for inside our outside playing. There is just the perfect amount of cushioning in the heal and front on the ball of my foot, but not too much.
