TV reception is good and HDMI video is high-def. I like the displayed info when you change channels - it lists the channel, the resolution (high-def channels being 1080i), and even the next two program names. The 1080i channels look just like my LG smart TV. However, I didn't give it 5 stars because, despite the high resolution display, the sound is marginal. While the on-screen display shows the Dolby logo, I could NOT get any 5-channel sound even on broadcast channels that are always 5-channel on my LG TV. While the documentation doesn't CLAIM 5-channel, I was disappointed at this oversight in the product performance because it's available in the broadcast signals, and 5-channel sound is much nicer than just front speakers, even for TV-show watching. (In fact, it sounded to me like mono audio, not even stereo. So when you are watching a broadcast movie, you get no directionality to the sound. I did not, however, find a high-def movie showing while I was testing). I will update this review to 5 stars if I find it reverts to 5-channel audio in high-def broadcast movies. I also noted (like other reviewers of the similar ViewTV263 product), that the remote is VERY directional. If you point the remote just a little ways away from the box, it will not work. But that's not a big deal to me.[Update 2/21/17 - My bad. I just had to put my Yamaha A/V receiver sound into movie mode after selecting the HDMI input for the Boostwaves. Surround sounds great now - seems to be at least 5.1 but I have only 5 speakers and no subwoofer so I can't be sure. I like it! Hope it comes back here!]

I purchased this converter hoping to improve on the View TV263 which did not perform satisfactory because I am rural and 60 plus miles from the transmitters. This model BoostWaves is a big improvement. Pulls in more stations, the picture is better and more stable, and overall it is clearly superior. Glad I took the chance. An easy five star especially at the price. Shipped and received promptly. It is obviously manufactured by the same company as ViewTV because the box is exact same size and details. Same poor manual. But as I said it is an improved updated model. I am more than satisfied and I recommend.

I have tried to return this item but the seller never responded to the Amazon email. This is the most un-user friendly item I have ever purchased. It is overly complicated to view the guide (for example: instead of the word "guide" to see what show is on, you press the button "epg" which then only give you one day's worth of shows instead of the 7 days as advertised. At least I am only $30 out instead of hundreds. Go buy the Tivo OTA Romaio, it is a thousand times better. This was a total waste of money and time.

Worked as expected. Only think I wish if it had remote capable of programing for other devices. You still need at least 2 to operate.

I was pleased with the digital converter. It works as it should unlike their antenna/amp!

Love it the only Thang I don't like about it is the remote does not control the tv to just the box so I have to use two remotes now the other units I've bought the remotes controls both the box and tv

The pvr function erased years and a lot of $ money's worth of stuff when I plugged in my drive. The directions did not have any special warning about this.

I am very happy with this product would buy again.
