I posted a very long review that didn't get approved, so I'm going to make it short and sweet. This light draws 800w +/- 5% but the driver consumes 70w. So, 730w of LED power is what you're actually putting out. That being said, I have never had happier plants. I went from having an extremely hot tent with a 1,200w HPS to having a 5x5x6.5 tent that never cracks 85°, even with the exhaust fan turned to the minimum. The LED puts out less actual ePPF than my HPS but it's much wider spectrum and MUCH more evenly spread out. My entire tent at 12" doesn't get below 823ePPFD at the minimum. The average at 18" is 1,064ePPFD according to my quantum sensor, and 1,321 ePPFD average at 12". However I like to keep it at 18" so that the light spread it more even, and I don't want to burn my plants as I am not using supplemental CO2. Anyways, the driver thing was explained to me in an email from Mars. I got this grow light on sale for $560, so there's no way I could ever get a better deal on a light like this. My only gripe is that I bought it RIGHT before they put out the FC-E1000w which I would have rather purchased. Oh well, this one is still good for my purposes! If I decide to supplement CO2, I'll lower the light. My power use immediately dropped very significantly just from having this light for 2 weeks out of the power billing period. I'm glad, because power rates in my area are about to go from $0.1205/kWh to $0.24175/kWh at the start of January. I can always lower the light and dim it to cut energy consumption if necessary. I give the light a 5/5 in all categories, but like all companies; MarsHydro overstates the performance of their product. At 12" I only get a total of 1,933 ePPF and they advertise 2,100 PPF Which it seems is never the case in any reviews. As long as you're cool with that, this light grows plants like no fixture I have ever used. The 8 100w blurples from Marshydro that I was using 2016-2019 couldn't get anywhere near this performance or efficiency. Also, the efficiency is much lower than claimed by Marshydro. I get 2.416 EPPF/J. 1933/800=2.416. If we go by the output wattage, I get 2.65ePPF/J, which is less than the efficiency of 2.8 PPD/J that they advertise. All in all, I don't regret my purchase, I will save around $2,000 in the next year on my power bill because of it, and my flowers have never grown so densely and happily. Great job Marshydro, just be more realistic in your ads. Update 1/15/2023: This light has saved me $100 on my power bill compared to a 1200W HPS. My usage statement on November 13 was 1145kWh consumed, December was 13th statement was 1209kWh, This month's statement shows 687kWh consumed. The light will pay for itself in 4 more months. Then we're just saving money.

Great light love it . But wire in bar stand is messed up shuts light off . Can't return it for another since I need it right now . But other then it screwing up my light cycle isnt good Update : Amazon knows nothing about indoor growing cusomer service won't help. Told me to contact manufacturer woooah even worse customer service being put through the gauntlet here and Not Amazon or Marshydro wants to fix this issue when I spent a lot of mon ey now a days and took forever just to save up for this light . Update: Amazon finally fixed the problem after over 70 emails with Marshydro they wanted to send a new dimmer box. And a video on how to wire it. I replied no refund . They asked how can we fix this I said uv bar and the 6800 or refund they offered uv bar. Amazon did full refund thank God . After all said and done I replied back to marhydro saying for 1 month waiting on response and then 2 weeks of time emailing you could at least hook me up with the 80 dollar uv bar that you wanted to give instead of refund keeping 500 of my money. But they won't even do that send a uv bar. Consumer service was horrible and slow

*scroll down to see my 2 year update* As you can see from the pictures, this light can grow some plants. I use it chiefly for flower and it excels at that. The connection from the driver to the light fixture started to get hot. The whole light went out (right after I harvested, whew!). I contacted Mars Hydro customer service via email. I was helped by Alice, who always responded promptly. They sent me another connector and a video on how to install it myself. After that, the light worked! Great customer service, Alice, and way to stand behind your product Mars Hydro! 2 year update: In May it will be 3 years of owning this light. It is rock solid in performance and is still like brand new. I keep a fan on the driver to prolong the life. The pic is my updated grow under this light along with 2 mars hydro deep red supplementals. Get this light. You won't regret it.

My light only lasted about 5-7 months or less one grow, I bought 2 of these in the last year or so one is still working fine but the other is not. Edit ... After a few emails mars hydro made it right by sending me a new power box for my light and it works now. I'm very thankful.

Easy setup, awesome coverage. With the driver placed outside out the tent, temps are easily controlled. What else can you ask for. All the connections on the light were a bit loose so i tightened everything up, so be sure to check for that. All in all, for the great price, I would recommend it to people looking for a powerful light on a budget.

It broke in 3 months .piece of junk.no longer works. Don't buy this junk !!!! I want my money back !!!!!!! Update, got in contact with Mars Hydro. They said they will send required parts needed for repair. Will Update further.Update ,contacted Mars Hydro and Amazon, replacement parts were sent in good time . Wired it up now works fine. Will try to salvage my grow . Thank you

UPDATE The replacement they sent was junk!!! Well not turn on under 40%. Even at 100% it's visibly weaker than the original one. I will never buy another Mars product again. Trying to communicate with their customer service is nearly impossible! You get one message a day and takes days and days to communicate anything. I think I'm better off just buying a new product from another company. Burned out in less than one year. Contacted customer service after days of one email per day communication they want me to wait almost a month for a replacement. What a joke. I will be staying away from Mars in the future. Had to cram all of my plants to one side while I hope I get a replacement with in the next 4 weeks.

Good for the price

Initial high cost but did the math and it will pay for itself compared to hps system in 2yrs of daily use. It uses half the electricity as a hps system for the same size coverage. Also has more even distribution of light over given area as multiple sources vs single hps bulb. Also hps is notorious for high heat output, you can't even touch it but the LED is only warm to touch. No need for cooling in grow area. Definitely a better overall system. However after buying a second light and close inspection of driver, it is labelled as 730 watts not the advertised 800 watts. Now it makes sense that i couldn't get the higher advertised par map with my systems fc-e8000. Still a good light but fake advertisement that reflects poorly on the company. See photo Update: Been almost 2yrs and it was on fire at the contection to light bar. Melted connection to wiring harness. Yes there was flames. That google home for fire alarm. Now will post on their warranty service in future.
