Amazing looper for creative keyboard players
This is an incredibly feature packed looper pedal for the money and Boss quality. I bought this because when I would jam alone, I'd find a cool riff or chord progression, but hit a wall trying to flesh out an idea with only two hands and my mortal levels of split coordination. Now when inspiration hits, I can throw together a 3 to 5 layer backing loop in a half hour and save it to rock out any time. It really takes your solo brainstorming sessions to a new level. As far as I can tell, the loop sound reproduction is seamless, so don't worry about poor fidelity. Also, the built-in drum tracks function like a metronome so they can be changed or turned off in your saved loops. The only downside I've had with the RC-3 is that the controls can feel clumsy because record, undo, stop, and erase are all routed through the one foot switch. The additional accessory pedal is an absolute must-have if you intend to gig with the looper. 100% recommend this pedal whether you're a casual player looking to experiment or a studio pro looking for a new tool at a good price.

I wish I bought this years ago!!
I wish I bought this years ago!! I'm having so much fun with this and I don't even know what I'm doing! I'm not that musically inclined but this thing makes me sound like a pro!! I love the drum machine function to add some rhythm to my master pieces. I play some basic cord, add a few licks, do a bass line, add the drums and boom I'm a rock star! I even impressed my 18 and 20 year olds! If you don't have anyone to jam with here's your answer. Great to practice jamming, cord progressions, scales, etc This is the best thing I have purchased since the original iPhone came out. Don't wait any longer and purchase this. It will make your life fun and impress your friends. Really, really easy to use. Just watch a couple of Youtube vids to get the idea and you'll be all set. Rock on!!

Unbelievably useful and helpful for learning
This is the coolest pedal ever. The pre-loaded drum beats with the tap tempo and easy recording are just the coolest parts, and only the tip of the iceberg. 99 slots to save stuff in. 90 minutes of stuff to save. You can just record every second of playing and save it if it's good, if not it clears automatically when you change slots. So simple yet so powerful. This should have been my first pedal..

Danger
Danger if you buy the RC3 you won't be able to put your guitar down. The extension pedal to control it is really nice (Boss FS-6) cuts down on bending over time. The RC3 is great for practicing, I did buy a wall wart , the jack turns it on and off kind of a pain mine is set on my pedal board master power supply controls on/off. I thought I would do an update my review: After having the RC3 about 2 months I find a few minor problems I find it extremely noisy, I've tried with multiple power supply's and a battery no help. To be fair my pedal board is not the quietest but I do have really good quality patch cables but nonetheless the RC3 is loud. When you're playing of coarse it's not that noticeable over the guitar volume. Now if I'm just playing I don't use it take out of the chain. Other minor issues the input; output and foot switch jacks are really close together so if your using large jacks you might have a problem. The last thing the extension foot switch is just a must it just makes operation so much easier. I made my own if you go this rout the two-foot switches have to be closed circuit (on when not pressed) I still like the RC3 but I think it's future on my board is going to short have more home work to do.

Well constructed, easy connections, and fun
The Boss RC5 looper pedal is just the most awesome device for a person on a budget especially! While not having some of the bells and whistles of a more advanced system this looper brings a lot of functionality and delivers a solid amount of recording time, memory, and processing power. Must admit, for a beginner the device has a bit of a steep learning curve, but it is certainly a fun experience. Seems solidly built for longevity. Happy with the purchase.

Highly recommend. Great for first loop pedal.
This thing is awesome. It added a member to my band. I got accustomed to it within a week and immediately improved my solo skills on guitar. I found that I already want more features/capabilities which come into play with their next models up. The 2 and 4 pedal loop stations. I'm gonna need one of those soon. It gets kind of repetitive only being able to loop the same exact riff over and over again, so you gotta get a little creative. Will probably upgrade soon now that I am more familiar with the loop pedals. Really great option for beginners like me though! Highly recommend.

A permanent fixture.
I could give you reasons... I could tell you details... I could recommend... I could even fluff... Or... I could just tell you that I purchased a second of this item - not to be confused with the quality of my first one; no, no... It remains the utmost intact... I purchased the second as a backup... The Robin, in the case of Batman going down... And we all know it would take quite a bit to bring down The Bat..... It is now a permanent fixture in the place that is my music - nearly enough to pit the necessity against the guitar itself! - In fact! I'd rather tote this little handy around in place of hiring another guitarist... Or even two... Technology is always changing music - everything, for that matter - the modern day guitarist must conform to the new age. Either that, or die at the hands of a guitarist who is willing to conform.

just like it's supposed to be
really great as a practice tool; easy to use, very cool, very sturdy (it ought to be for almost 2 bills, eh?). I really am enjoying this and find it to be almost as useful as my Fender GDEC amp (almost, but not as fun). By the way, it cost more than my GDEC but is more limited with only 9 beat patterns. It is a good tool for forcing more creativity, if that's what you are looking for. It's built much sturdier on the other hand when comparing to a GDEC and is much more compact and portable. get the power supply adapter cord, you'll save money in the long run.

Works fine & serve its purpose with some extra features like drums to jam on. I like it. Looks & feel solid. I use this during my free time while drinking coffee.

Grazie Amazon!

Very impressive build and sound quality. Nice compact size. I have home DIY fitted couple of switches to replace the external footswitches for more control onboard. However, Drums are just start and stop. Please don't expect any fills, transition, intro or outro. Keeps you on time though. Single loop only. Need to install software in your mac/pc to upload backing tracks, its NOT drag n drop. Also, the file has to be converted to Wav format. Extra hassle, but it is a very handy pedal (recommended) for those who likes to play along backing tracks. The main thing i dislike is that; when you are clearing a recorded loop, after stop; you press and hold the pedal, at this moment the track plays for about 1-2sec before its cleared. So your crowd may not appreciate that. Overall its a good pedal, it does OK for my need but i guess the hype is more than what it really does, unless you spend a good fortune on midi controllers. Don't always go for brand. Get what satisfies your need.
