Listening to This Album is Never Wasted Time
I have some other favorite Eagles' songs that are not included on this album, but if I were to choose only one album by this group, this would absolutely be THE ONE.I admit, some of their songs do not appeal to me, and yet others reach me way down and grab a hold of my heart or soul in a very complex way. Why complex? It's never just the music..rather...like other groups that appeal to me deeply, the lyrics have serious importance, to me. I am thinking in particular of "Wasted Time", for example. Now there's a song that is a perfectly balanced example of music combined with words.Unfortunately, I can't help laughing now whenever I hear "Desperado", because of the Seinfield episode with the dorky boyfriend Elaine dated briefly, who would stop and make everyone listen whenever that song came on the radio, but it IS a beautiful, beautiful song, and I loved it for years. If I ever get back to the place I was at before Seinfield wrecked it (even though it was a funny episode), it will remain a beautiful song, to me.I don't really understand the Eagles as a group. What was "california style music"? I see that as second level. They were not at their peak when this album was released, and I got turned on to them late. However, their music suited me in a romantic way. I am not as hot for their harder songs. I am not into Joe Walsh, for example. Give me Stevie Ray Vaughn for rammin it.Get this album if you like to drive and sing. It will hold up. Get this album if you like diversity. It has that. Get this album if you have a collection that spans decades before the nineties. It has a valid place on any music lover's list, and there IS a reason the Eagles made it into the R & R Hall of fame.Fer shure.best, jean

Condition and description cover was misleading
When I received my package the case was cracked and it came apart. The CD's are ok though. It wasn't what I was expecting though. I (going by the picture) was hoping for that CD because I was replacing mine that was stolen and the "86 EAGLES LIVE" has Timothy singing "take it to the limit" with his high note that Randy hit also (and if you listen really close, you hear Glenn saying "all right Timothy" because Timothy was in the band in 86 not Randy (sorry). I am keeping the CD anyway. Just FYI

Timeless Classic
I originally bought this when it came out on cassette, upgraded a few years later to the vinyl version, lost my CD version during a move, and am now on my fourth iteration with the MP3 download here from Amazon. The music on this double live album is great and are timeless classics. I’ve been listening to this album since it first came out, and now my high schooler and associated friends love listening to the Eagles, also (or they are humoring me by asking me to play it). This album brings back a lot of memories for each song, and I still try to hit the high notes on Seven Bridges Road but only when I am the only one in the car with the volume up loud so I can’t hear myself howl.If you’re looking to replace your lost or damaged Eagles album, or you are someone who is just now discovering Boston and enjoy timeless rock where the singers actually sing and play their own instruments, I would recommend your getting this double album.

One Of The Eagles' Best
This is one of those albums I had earlier, but somehow let get away from me. In my opinion, it's perhaps the best of all the group's albums. As the title implies, it captures a live performance. It's tempting to believe that a live performance of all the "greatest hits" can't possibly be as good as the same songs rendered in the controlled conditions of a studio. Not the case with this album. It's technically rich, and it seems that at this point in the Eagles' career, they've honed each of their hits to perfection. The nuances and flourishes seem to be just what the original studio performances were grasping for, but slightly missed. Often when artists give a live performance, they want to halfheartedly zip through their golden oldies so they can get on to whatever is newest. Again, not the case with this album. Fans came to hear their old favorites, and the E's respect that. All the energy and emotion is there -- fresh and evocative.
