Is this free from Asbestos?

Because talc and asbestos are minerals found close together, when talc is mined it may contain traces of asbestos. Talcum powder is still an ingredient in a number of cosmetics brands. As recently as November 2020, a study found 14% of the talc-containing makeup tested also contained asbestos. This couldn't be verified without testing. I would suggest contacting Physician's Formula directly.

Can i use this without foundation or anything; just by itself with good coverage?

I use it as foundation. I still use concealer under my eyes for dark circles, but that's all.

Does this actually protect you from the sun?

No powders really provide good sunscreen. Use a good liquid face sunscreen of at least 30 spf under it.
