No. I don't smell anything ever.

how are you supposed to actually use even half the glue in the container that is too hard to squeeze?

I never had a problem.if you can't get out of the tip,cut the tip off again

I have a plastic tray on my reloading press that this glue doesn't seem to adhere to. Is there a different Loctite product to use for it?

Is this a thin, medium, or a thick consistency?

I'd say medium - just like Crazy Glue. I use when I break a nail because I only need one drop and the top keeps the rest of the glue in usable condition. Good choice.
