Has great bass and can be adjusted to your music taste. Review: Love it, but do your MATH! RMS is the key! - Wow, I had to do some math to figure out all the RMS, % of power, wiring, fuses, battery. This was a research lesson for me. I install this on my Pontoon with a Sony MEX-M100 400W-receiver and AMS-602W 60W-speakers and Piyle PLMRW 8" 400 W sub speaker ( I build the closed in case out of 3/4" wood) I am handy, but not a stereo guy. This is my first install of a sub amp. I have a stereo guy in the family and he knows the Ohms etc so well it makes my head spin. The key I learned is keep it at at 5 Ohms and figure out the RMS of each component. I searched tech sheets on the Internet for the RMS of each device. I also fund during other research that there was a good ratio I needed for good clean sound. My receiver is about volume 32-35, my sub is low to 1/4 boost based on the song and my receiver EQ and boost settings. I am happy with the results I'll leave my diagram below. Diagram Note: I did not use the capacitor and I tied the remote on to a switch as we listen to the radio with the motor off a lot. Lesson Learned. My family tech was not recommending I use the remote knob for bass control and told me I did not need a sub woofer with this high power amp, just tie the back speakers together to run the sub. I am so glad I di did not listen. I added the amp and the remote bass knob. Each song is different and its so nice to be able to reach down and tweak the bass. Here is what I found for this Sub Amp...which I love! RMS @ 4Ohms ~118W tests (calculations are 281W @4 Ohms) This fit my high power receiver and sub speaker just about right for my 8" sub was RMS 200W So in short, due your math for RMS. I found the Sub speaker should be double the RMS of the Sub Amp. SPEAKERS NEED 7 times the power youre giving them. Go with lower wattage speakers, 600Rms watt max and 1100 peak = 550Rms amp = 1100 peak watts= 550 RMS....Real world numbers are more like 275-325 RMS from the amplifier. Same with speakers. 3500 peak = 1750 RMS/2=875-925 RMS.... Either way if you underpower your speakers ,or overload your amp Its not going to work correctly. Dont forget ,it's a SYSTEM. Everything must be compatible and work together to make the System a success. Your 1100 watt mono block ,in reality ,will pump around 275-325 into a single sub, comfortably... Therefore you'd be better off getting a 1000 watt peak power handling Single voice coil sub. That's 200-350 W.RMS max . Our System utilizes much lower amplifier wattage requirement due to the enhancement of otherwise unused sound, accousticaly disbursed and exiting to the rear of the driver. The RF sub is a 150rms with 300 watts of peak power . this amp says 1100watts peak power at "2ohms" all that means is it can give you that boost in short tiny bursts and from previous issues with boss quality likely not at all. It will probably overheat first and go in protect mode. But since that Rf sub is a 4ohm svc it shouldnt matter really .according to these amps specs its says 413 rms @ 4 ohms , which imo is bologna . i own this amp and max at 4 ohms @14.4v ill say 175rms max.
