Sonic Impact Wireless FM Music Adapter
The electronics aspect of the product works as advertised, however there are some design flaws that cause me to lower the rating. The major flaw is that the ac adapter jack uses an unusual non-standard size. It something like a 1/16 jack for which none of the universal ac power adapters will work. I assumed that maybe the company (Sonic Impact) would at least sell the ac adapter. I'll never know since customer service didn't return my email. The second design flaw is the dial that adjusts the FM frequency. It's in such a position that it gets constantly jarred out of position, losing the correct frequency. This in conjuction with it using 2 AAA batteries (weaker signal) the unit needs constant adjustment.

GREAT PRODUCT
ok.. i know the bad reviews sound really bad but i really tried speakers and so on for my laptop i used this for a few days the volume is great the sound is great the thing is easy to use and flexible which is another great thing. even tho the channels selectable are limited but my radio is rather far from my laptop and i can watch a movie and the radio because it is a decent radio makes the laptop sounds sound great. please dont derate the item because you do not have a good radio or you are using a old style non digital radio. this is a digital thing digital to analog always isnt as good but if its digital to a digital solund output it will be great. im using a timex clock w/ digital radio and its great i used my logitech sound system connected w/ a digital radio and it sounded better so im guessing the results depend on your radio that you are using. anyways this product is great! nothing wrong or bad in my opinion.

Works great with ipod
Don't waste 30-40$ on the Griffin iTrip Fm transmitter when this baby will do the same thing for half the price. Not only is it a steal at this price but it is far more reliable than the iTrip - which is full of problems. I have also had the Belkin transmitter and it shorted out in less than a year.

Didn't work for me but it might for you
I use a cassette adapter with my MP3 player in the car, but was hoping to have something I could use in the house that would let me keep the MP3 player close by for skipping songs, pausing, picking albums, and changing the volume. Wiring the MP3 directly into the stereo I had to get up any time I wanted to do those things. This unit is small, inexpensive, widely available and doesn't add a tangle of additional cords. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries that are not included and does not have a jack for a DC adapter. It is suspiciously similar looking to the iRock 300w, certainly just a rebranded twin (in fact the Belkin Tunecast may be repackaged version of this unit as well). On the way home from the store it actually worked pretty well in the car even though in Atlanta a reasonably powerful college station sits at 88.5, right in the middle of its four possible settings (88.1, 88.3, 88.5, and 88.7). I noticed a little static at 88.1 and when I turned the unit off I could hear a scratchy NPR station (maybe in Columbus?). I got some more interference in an isolated spot on the drive home, but for the most part it sounded good. But at home I tried the device with two different home stereo units and couldn't get a clear signal on either even though I was less than ten feet away. In both cases 88.5 seemed to be to blame. One of those stereos has an external FM antenna and one doesn't. I tried again with my Tivoli radio and it got a scratchy signal due to 88.5 as well.So it doesn't work for me and I will have to send it back. It is worth trying in your area and maybe you'll get better results. I think it might work better if I was just further from downtown. Other units have a wider selection of frequencies they can play on and that might have helped on this one as well.

Horrible
The stations that it can use are 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, and 88.7. Where I live only two of those stations are used by the radio (88.1 and 88.5), however depending on the location in the city then 88.3 is used but with static. With that in mind, the only one that seems to remotely work is 88.3 and 88.5 and that is with a lot of static. For me it would go in and out of working. It would go from little static to covered in static, no matter where I put it in my car. I notice that if I am on the highway going to another city, then it will work a little better than when I drive around in my city, so I am assuming that people who live in a big city will not like this at all.The bottom line is this product did not work, the signal was atrocious and it quickly goes through the battery.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!!
When I first purchased this FM Transmitter I thought it worked awesome. But then it started messing up. I have used this in my car for my Mp3 player. Let me just list a couple of things that have happened to me- the on/off button sticks in one position or the other either making this unusable or simply drains the batteries no matter what you do.- Also, when the button does seem to let you use it, the wires inside of the cable are broken. Rendering the sound to be terrible. This transmitter is actually only a couple of weeks old and the store that I bought it at will not take it back so I had to throw it away and am forced to look for a new one.
