Humor, Heart, and Help
This book is a must-read, and perfect for all fathers. While the book is geared towards Stay at Home Dads, Carpenter has masterfully created a book which will appeal to any fathers or fathers to be. The book holds no punches, tackling different things dads, especially SAHDs, need to do, such as take care of their health and connect to other dads.Carpenter's prose is witty and to the point. It's packed with useful tips on parenting from both him and dozens of other dads. It is a genuine joy to read, as the words and stories are told in a lighthearted but utterly honest manner.Beyond just tips, Carpenter has created a memoir of his own successes and failures, as well as a manual on how to take his and other fathers' stories and apply them to your own life.As a stay at home dad, I found this book invaluable. As a father, I think all dads need to read this. And as a lover of books, I think this book was just pure heart and joy. This is a true labor of love, and it shows. I cannot recommend this book enough, and would give it more than five stars if allowed.

Stay at Home Dads, all dads, heck - all moms. This book is for you.
So much of this book is practical advice, but it's peppered with laugh-out-loud stories about the author (and 100s of other dads) forging his own way forward as a Stay at Home Dad, that it could just as easily be shelved in humor as in parenting advice. What I'm saying is, this is just a great book overall. Good advice for any stay at home dad, but also any dad with a desire to be present and accountable in their children's lives and in their family dynamic. Honestly it's pretty good advice for any parents trying to find their style and their support and their sanity. Shannon's got it figured out: Use what you got, play into your strengths, laugh often!

Witty, no-nonsense, practical advice for all fathers
This is the best fatherhood advice book I have read over the past 40 years in my work as a college professor and author of "Improving father-daughter relationships: A guide for women their dads." With Carpenter's book as a witty, heartfelt, in your face honest guide, fathers will build even more meaningful bonds with their kids - whether they are stay at home dads or employed dads.

A Great Read for ANY Dad!
This was an entertaining read that I'll refer back to many times in the future! The organization makes it easy to knock out a section in the bathroom or during bath time. A necessity for both new and seasoned dads alike!

A Very Funny Read!
"At-home dads are salesmen, IT specialists, and marketing managers," says author Shannon Carpenter of THE ULTIMATE STAY-AT-HOME-DAD. "We are doctors and lawyers, mechanics and electricians. Some have college degrees, and some don't. We are blue collar and white collar...bearded with tattoos and cleanshaven. We are every guy you've ever met."This book gets down and dirty and is very funny! I like how he brings his other dad buddies into the equation--with each of them offering invaluable tips. I highly recommend!

Blunt, educational, and perfect.
I haven’t even read that much of the book yet, but it is amazing. Very useful ideas and hints as well as keeping it real the whole time. Highly recommended for any stay at home dad.

Not just for "at home" dads!
This is a practical and fun book for all dads -- not just "stay at home" dads! Carpenter draws on the experience of many dads while being transparent regarding his successes and struggles as a father. I highly recommend the book.

For what
The book is kept quite entertaining, but the only thing I could take out of it, was how practical it is to take a cooler with snacks and drinks with you when going out with your kids.
