I’m a self confessed guitar snob, none of my guitars are ‘cheap’ and when I wanted a headless guitar last year I bought one from the brand that begins with Strand and ends with Berg, costing me well over a £1000. When it arrived I was disappointed in many ways and it went back, never to be replaced. But, the headless itch didn’t go away, so having read and watched many Eart reviews I thought I’d chance my luck on a GW2, fully expecting to be disappointed again. The guitar arrived a full week ahead of the quoted delivery date, and it is stunning! I went for the plain top in black and I’d recommend it. The burl veneers on the other models are paper thin and I’d be concerned about their durability. The plain top is just beautiful! The wood has a deep grain which is visible, front, sides and back through the matte paint finish. It looks like a guitars at least four times its price and better than most headless guitars I’ve seen in stores from the major brands. It feels amazing too! The neck is a revelation. Not too thin, but certainly not too thick, beautifully carved and finished in a flawless satin that isn’t sticky and feels lovely when you’re playing. The fret ends are smooth and well polished, and the rosewood board is dark and smooth and attractively grained. It’s the kind of build quality I’d expect to see and feel on a boutique build, not a sub £350 Chinese made axe. The hardware is solid, the electronics function well and the pickups exceeded my expectations hugely. The tone from this guitar is amazing for the price. All things considered, I can honestly say that had I tried this guitar in a store and been told it was made by a better known brand, I probably would have happily paid £1500+ for it. It’s that good! I know I’m gushing, but I can’t stress just how much I’m impressed by this guitar. I’m half tempted to order another before Eart realise that they’re massively under selling themselves and increase the price. I must stress, I’m not being paid for this review and I paid in full for the guitar. If you’re considering a headless guitar and reading this - buy the Eart GW2, get the plain top version. You’ll be thrilled when it arrives.

This is seriously the best guitar I've ever played. The neck is just fantastic. Eart claims it's some kind of compound radius magic... Can't say I can see any difference but it really does feel and play the best of all my guitars. It's absolutely my go to. I'll kick of with the bad as it's a really short list. I got the black one thinking it would be easier to sell if I didn't like it. But it's definitely the worst of the colour options. Might just be mine, as I've seen others that look great, but there's barely any wood grain it's just mat black looks cheap. Which it is. It plays like a £1k guitar so whatever. Other downsides are just part of the headless lifestyle... You can't hang it on the wall or stand it easily on the ground. I've owned a Hils headless guitar which claims to be wall hangable because it has a little bit of a headstock but it's absolutely not true. So the Eart is just as good has a Hils or a Strandberg in that regard. The Hils will stand better though so there's that. The good stuff is basically everything else... For £250 this thing is utterly magical. The neck is just sublime I can't say enough good about it. Body is solid if nothing special, get a wood top or coloured one. The tuners are honestly good, thought I'd hate them but they work, stay in tune and look neat. The pickups are perfect for this money. My bridge one sounds noticeable brighter more like a single coil. Means you get a range of tones. Love it. Got a guitar with dual fishman humbuckers and honestly I wouldn't know what position my pickups are in without looking. Comes with a decent set of strings on it right out of the box... Honestly I could go on for ages. If you're thinking about getting one go for it. So happy I did. Completely changed my worldview on what "cheap" guitars are capable of.

I put about 20 minutes into adjusting the action and the guitar was good to go. I love the magnetic winder for the tuners it is really clever. When I purchased I wondered if I would have to upgrade the pickups but they sound fabulous. The guitar balances perfectly too. Couldn't be happier. Hope Eart think of doing a short scale headless bass - for this kind of price it would be awesome.

I cannot believe how nice this guitar is for the price. Even after reading all the amazing reviews I was expecting this. The top is more beautiful and detailed than you can see in the pictures. So is the back side of the guitar I love that its textured on both sides. The neck is perfect for me. So comfortable I didn't have to adjust to it in anyway from my Ibanez wizard neck which I thought I would. Easy to tune and stays in tune. 5 piece neck? Which is also beautiful. Can't believe this as a feature on a sub £300 guitar It sounds great too, no need to change pickups as I thought I would. I can't fault the guitar apart from the fact I want to change the knobs to go for wooden ones instead just an aesthetic preference. Highly recommend

I purchased one of these to see if it lived up to the hype and it certainly does that. Seems a bit weird at first with the lack of a headstock but you soon get used to it. I expected I would need to swap out the pickups but am happy with the stock items so they will stay. Marvellous neck and excellent fretwork makes it a breeze to play and I find it is a guitar I keep going to despite the fact I own around 25 other guitars , some very expensive high end ones. Would highly recommend . I also have an Eart NK-C3 that I purchased after this one that did come with problems but still a nice guitar once I sorted it out.

A very, very good instrument for the price. The woods used and construction seem to be first rate. The 1mm-or-so spalted veneer on top looks very attractive even close-up. The 5 piece neck is absolutely *stellar*: Slim, fast and extremely consistent in thickness and feel from the nut to the heel. No complaints there whatsoever. The medium-jumbo fretwork is much better than one would expect at this price point. Frets appear to be stainless steel (nice!), are very nicely rounded at the edges and nicely crowned. Very comfortable indeed. My guitar had ever-so-slightly uneven fret edges on the high E edge of the fretboard, but it's not severe enough to affect playability. Slightly more bothersome is a minor fret buzz (sitar tone) at the 3rd fret on the G and B strings after lowering the action a bit. Will investigate this further but I don't think there's a major problem there and I think a bit of continued tweaking the set-up should be able to resolve it. The componentry seems to be no-nonsense and decent quality. Pots are smooth and noise-free. Selector switch (3-way) seems robust and is nicely detented. Soldering appears fine. The internals have no extra RF shielding but that's not a problem. The stock pickups are a very pleasant surprise: They're toneful, low noise and I'm happy to stick with them. The fixed bridge system has typically been the focus of most criticism. I can't say I love it as you really need to use the little magnetically-attached hex-key crank for both fine and rapid tuning. I can see this dropping off and getting lost eventually. I also think the hex screw adjustments for string height and position locking are a bit cumbersome. That said, all bridge systems have their pros and cons. This one does at least offer a very wide range of setup options, and most importantly, it does seem to hold tuning very well indeed. I can live with it. All in all, I'm very happy with the Eart headless. Playability of a high-end instrument. Great looks, great sound and great value. 80% of the quality of a very high-end instrument at 20% of the cost, so you won't be too worried taking it out on gigs etc. What's not to like? Update: Love this guitar. Sitar tones completely fixed by relaxing truss rod a quarter-turn and replacing strings. Action is now incredibly low and fast, perfect for fast legato. Stock pickups are really, really good. Just be aware that you will probably need to spend some quality time refining the set-up to your liking (same for any guitar, really). Very happy indeed with this.

Blown away by how good this is for £309. I own/have owned over 30 guitars in my time and this plays as well as my Charvels and many of the others. It does need a good set up (lowered the saddles) first as to be expected. I am using the stock strings (10 to 46 I believe) and I expect the guitar will play even better with 9-42 when I get round to changing them. Great finish, cracking neck and the hype about the frets is all true. Negatives: switch seems a bit cheap and the volume taper is progressive rather than acting as roll-off for cleaning up the level of gain.

I bought this guitar as a potential travel guitar to take on holiday or on work trips as I don’t want to take my other more expensive guitars on such trips. The GW2 arrived slightly ahead of time and was well package with no damage to packaging or instrument. On opening up, the expected accessories and booklet were present. The instrument was solidly made with good overall build quality in the wood and hardware. The veneer on the top was not as spectacular as I saw in publicity photos but that is the luck of draw I know. Sound wise, it was exactly as can be seen in the many YouTube videos… surprisingly good! You will notice that I am using the past tense… ultimately I sent the guitar back for 2 main reasons: 1. The neck was much chunkier than I expected (I use PRS Wide/Thin or Strandberg Endurneck normally. 2. The guitar was quite a lot heavier than I expected. I don’t doubt that the woods used will contribute to the sound but small headless guitars are often bought for their relatively low weight and this was too much for my intended use. So, overall a good guitar for modding and as a workhorse but ultimately not for me for the reasons described above.

For 417 (CDN) plus tax to my door in four days is one thing. For it to look amazing is another. For it to play amazing with ZERO set up is another. Best guitar purchase is a very long time. Playing for 40+ years. played em all, own a few. This guitar feels great - neck is amazing. I could sit here and write for a while about this product. Very happy. Seriously very happy. I don't have a problem with the pick ups or the hard ware. Bridge may need a replacement at some point. Fun Fun Fun.

This is now my second Eart headless. I purchased the fixed and trem models. First of all, quality was on point. Was able to dial in the same low action. Sapele back is gorgeous. One piece. Crazy. Lighter than the ash body on the other version. I'm not a fan of this bridge, but it works. I was able to get it setup and intonated. Having the tuning tool on board is a nice change from the tremolo version. Pickups in this are much nicer! Really sweet humbuckers. So... Both are great. The tremolo on the w2 is very usable, not great. Setup is better. Pickups on this are much better. Bridge is very meh. It works. This has the onboard tuning tool, which means you need to remember fewer things when going to the jam session. So, it's a wash. If you'll never use the trem and want a mahogany like body, get the W1. If you really want the trem/ash, get the W2 and consider changing out pickups. Neck and fretwork is fantastic, and everything else is on point. See my review on the W2 page but in short, I was able to get to 1.2 mm action at the 12th fret. Amazing value. With a good setup, this guitar plays like butter.

I purchased this guitar despite being skeptical about it being any good due to the very affordable price. I also did have a small hiccup with the first guitar I ordered but EART was quick to respond and save the day. Hands down the best support I have seen especially with what seems like a small player in the guitar game, at least here in the US. On to the guitar itself. Aesthetically it is very stunning and easily rivals more expensive guitars in the looks department. Right out of the box the guitar was playable but the action was not to my liking so I spent a few minutes lowering the action as far as it could. This bridge is very good at staying in tune but is a little tricky if it's your first time working on a headless guitar. I figured it out pretty quickly though. Google and YouTube is a good place to start. The body is very comfortable. The pickup routes might not be perfect but for the price I cant complain nor will it ever affect playability. The 5 piece neck feels great with absolutely no problem hitting the 24th fret. The fretwork is very nice and the fret ends are better than even some of my high end USA and Japan made guitars. That being said, it blows guitars in its price range out of the water. I'd compare it to guitars in the $500-$700 range. The pickups sound surprisingly good and the only real drawback I could find is that the guitar is not shielded so you will have some hum. Its quite easy enough to remedy with some shielding paint or even some copper or aluminum tape. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and impressed with the support from EART. Of course for this price it is not perfect but it's damn close in the places that matter. If you're thinking of buying this guitar I would advise you to pull the trigger. Just know you might have to put in some time to set it up a bit.

Overall this guitar is absolutely awesome for the price and a great introduction to headless guitars. The good: - decent electronics and pickups - beautiful fit and finish - amazing fretwork (the hype over the frets is absolutely real) - surprisingly solid tuning stability - extremely comfortable to play The not-so-good: - relatively low-output PAF style pickups may seem at odds with the ultra-modern styling - the bridge is a lot more finicky to set the intonation/action than more traditional options - the supplied wrench required for turning the tuners is tiny, awkward to use, and easy to lose - for some reason the truss rod has spontaneously loosened itself off on mine twice now I ended up replacing the electronics in mine to better suit my style, but that's just preference. It needed barely any setup work out of the box which is really impressive - most guitars ar 2-3x the price of these ones need huge amounts of fretwork and nut slot shaping.
