A: The baseplate that comes with it is 10” long. You don’t have to use the baseplate. It is only needed if there are extra unused holes in the sink that you want to cover.

This was an excellent choice. I ordered this a few years ago in black and it has held up well. Looks exactly like the day i bought it...showing no wear at all. i have extremely hard water so was worried when i ordered if it would wear well and it absolutely has. It was easy to install (I am 75 years old). No leakage. Quality is great. The sprayer is starting to not do so well because of hard water deposits and there is not a way to open and clean inside but other than that I would purchase this again without hesitation.
