Fantastic Hiking Boots.
Let me start out by saying that while I am not much of an avid hiker, these are by far my favorite shoes. I wear them multiple days a week just because they're so comfortable and I like the look. They do tend to run small. I normally wear a men's size 8.5 and when I received those and tried them on, I immediately sent them back and ordered a half-size larger. Those size 9s fit perfectly. These shoes/boots are durable. I've had them now for about 4 years and they STILL look great. The soles have good traction and they do repel water pretty well. I haven't hiked down the middle of a stream, but I have stepped through them and my feet stayed dry. For rainy days, they work great. Arch support is good as well. I have high arches and often have to swap out the insole to something with more support. Not so with these.Overall, these are great boots. When you consider the price for what you get, they are fantastic. I really have no idea why I waited so long to review them, but here you go. I own the mid-height and am just now purchasing another pair in the low-height. Highly recommended.

Good Purchase
These Merrell Men's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots got me through last week's trip to Yosemite National Park. I didn’t really get a chance to break them in before we left. I have wide feet and high arches, but they fit perfectly and did the job. I didn’t slip and fall, crash and burn, face plant, wipeout or make a complete fool of myself on any of the trails. And my feet didn't hurt after 3 days of hiking. Socks? I recommend these Genuine Dickies Stay Dry, Anti-Blister Protection Nano Glide Steel Toe Performance Work Socks (see attached photo). Overall, I'm very pleased with the Moab boots. It was a good purchase.

Great footwear
My go-to boot for working in the yard. Good traction, lightweight and breathable. They didn’t require any breaking in and were instantly comfortable to wear.

Good but short laces.
I swore I’d never buy Merrell again after premature failure of the previous sets of boots but I still like the style, they are comfortable and affordable. I’ve had these for almost three months now and although they don’t have many miles on them, I do like them very much. They were comfortable out of the box.My one complaint is that the laces are too short (52”) to get a good double knot in. I swapped them out for a pair of recycled laces (likely my old Merrell’s because they look almost identical) that are 60” long and that was what these boots needed.

Would recommend
Very comfortable right out of the box. Traction is good. I wear a 10.5 EE. Size is true. Seems to be a good value of hiking boot for the money.

Comfy on a long walk
I prefer the non WP version. I get about a year’s use out of a pair but I go on walks for 5 miles each day and one 10 miler a week. They hold up well whether on a hard surface or gravel. I will buy again.

Love em
Worn em nearly every day for the past 4 months and on weekends for the last 2 or so years. I love em it's about time for me to get some new inserts but honestly I may just buy another pair.

This is my second pair in four years
My first set was a birthday present in 2020 and this set was a Christmas present in 2022 (that I asked for by name). The first set finally bit the dust and, after all the abuse I dished out, I can still fully recommend these shoes. I walk 1.5-4 miles through dewy grass every morning; often with mud caked on or deep puddles to tromp through. I wore them at work as a full-time caretaker for the elderly and disabled where I had an average of 18k steps per day. By the end of that 30-month lifespan of the first pair, I had worn them out and the leather started cracking, the soles came loose, and I often got debris inside the shoe via the gap in the sole. The comfort is top notch and comes just shy of a sneaker. My feet never hurt; even after the longest days. Unless I sweat for hours on end, they never smell. (a few squirts of baby powder once a week helps with that) My previous hiking boots were Salomon brand and they lasted only six months when subjected to this abuse. They were just as comfortable, mind you, but they didn't hold up to my everyday habits. By month seven, they were too far gone to even be used as yard mowing shoes. With my new pair of Merrell from this order, I am protecting them more closely than the last. I bought a pair of $20 Walmart shoes for my morning dog walks and let them suffer the brunt of my damage while this wonderful set keeps me attractive and cozy while doing my job. I do miss the comfort while trekking through the weeds each morning, but this set has done nearly 18 months without a lick of damage so far and I want to keep it that way. To any of you who are as active as myself, you must admit, a pair of shoes lasting two years is often the limit. For a set of shoes as nice as this, I'd rather their lifespan of comfort and functionality be spread out during my stressful moments; not the dirty ones. Therefor, I wear them while I tend to the helpless and less fortunate at my job, including doctor's meetings, surgeries, and at-home wound care.If you're buying these from Amazon here, then keep in mind: The color you choose might cost or save you 40% or more. I got lucky and got the second pair for much less than the first. Even though they were gifts, I knew the price of each.
