How to care for this type of squishy and what it's made of
These have always been my favorite kind of toy. After reading some of the negative reviews, here are some things to know before buying this toy and how to care for it:1. These are NOT foam squishies, aka slow-rise squishy, these are "mochi squishies" (because they look and feel like rice mochi). They are actually made of a super-soft material called elastomer (basically an elastic plastic). I personally like the way they "squish" way better than foam squishies. They are jiggly and bouncy like a gel2. Elastomer is *very* delicate and stretching it too much will cause little tears, it can also "pill" like fabric if there is too much friction. It's better to mush and poke them with fingers, not stretch them (even though that is soooooo much fun) or rub around. They will last much longer if they are just poked and prodded, it's like poking slime in terms of texture3. They are velvety because they have a thin dusting of powder (also just like real mochi). If this powder is washed off, they will get sticky but it can be fixed by dusting with talcum powder or corn starch. If you put them in water, the powder will come off and your "mochi" will get sticky, but water is the right way to clean them if they become dirty. Just be sure to dust them with powder after the bath4. It's better to play with them on a hard, clean surfaces, like a desk or table. Playing with them on a rug, floor, or bed makes it more likely they'll get "pills" and they'll eat up dirt like an eraser5. Kids can destroy these in a matter of hours unless they know what kind of play will damage them (mainly, rubbing around in grubby hands and stretching out as far as possible)... I speak directly from childhood experience, lol6. Do not store them or leave them touching hard plastic for a long period of time, the two plastics will eventually try to bond and it makes a weird sticky dent in the hard plastic (which is interesting science, but the damage is permanent)7. They will get weird and sticky/tacky if exposed to heat, don't store in them in direct sunlight or leave in a hot car8. They last for a long time if treated gently! Of course, you can opt to just sacrifice them for the sake of stretching and squeezing to your heart's content, but know they'll not look great or last as longI can't believe I just wrote a guide on these silly things. College stress is clearly getting to me.I hope this can help someone enjoy these neat little toys a bit more now. Well, time to poke some squishies and write this outline...! @_@

First impressions were good. Great packaging
First impressions were good. Great packaging, super cute product. I could see why these were so popular. My 1 star rating is due to the fact that some sort of oil leeches out of them. They felt fine when opened - not wet or sticky or oily. I noticed when my kids put the 2 or 3 they opened down onto a table that had some papers on it dark circles spread out from each squishy. I opened the rest and lay them out on a piece of cardboard to see if they all did the same - the pictures don't lie - I don't know what's coming out of them - seems oily but these are not something I want my kids to have. I can see them ruining clothes, furniture, bedspreads... pretty much anything they're set down on. Too bad.

Deformed, oozing pieces of soft plastic
I couldn't find genuine Japanese-made prototypes on a short notice, so I ordered this - stuff - based on overall reviews. Well, I might've known... Box illustrates the process of how not to feed these toys to a toddler. Each piece wrapped in plastic. The toys itself are deformed, missing limbs, having extra eyes, or looking like grapes altogether. Out of the entire box one can potentially select 4 or 5 that do not look like some mutant forms of life - but there is a bigger problem. The toys exude some kinda liquid (sorry, I didn't think to run IR spectroscopy on it), that stains paper and other absorbent materials. Not sure if these were recyclable, I dumped the whole set into the garbage. The end.

Poor Quality Squishy- DONT BUY!!!
My daughter was really excited to receive her squishies and when they arrived we were shocked. The animal’s paint was chipped and the feel of the squishy was oily and very lubricant. In just two minutes, the feet started ripping off. My daughter and I were very disappointed. To all amazon shoppers, don’t buy this product.

STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL! DO NOT PURCHASE!
I gave one star because 0 stars is not possible! Upon opening the main bag, that has all of the individually wrapped squishies in it, I noticed a horrible chemical smell. I only opened 1 squishy toy... that was all that was needed. The chemical smell coming from this toy was horrific! There is also a greasy/oily residue on them that transfers to what ever it touches. I've washed my hands numerous times and still have the chemical smell from these on my hands. I would submit a picture with the one I opened but there is no way I am about to have to smell that awful smell again! I am highly disappointed in this product and now I find out that I have to pay $5.99 to return the product! This infuriates me! 😠😠😠 DO NOT PURCHASE THESE!

Fun gift for kids into Slime toys!
Bought this as a birthday gift for a 7 year old and she LOVED it! Such a great price and fun to play with! I didn’t notice any toxic smell, but a lot of lint or any hair/ pet hair and fuzzy will stick to it very easily.

Give love on Christmas!
My sister and I loved it so much!! It came before Christmas so my sister gave some of it as her Christmas gift (smart!) to some of our relatives. There’s only two downfall: some of the paints (like my panda) is coming off also it smells weird but it’s rubber so what to expect ;D. Anyway we loved it so much!!

LOVE IT!
I am very impressed with this, it arrived very quick and very well packaged. The shipping took a few minutes and to actually receive the package took four days which I am very happy about because I wanted it for Christmas gifts. I got four cats, two seals, a panda and everything else that it shows, it is definitely worth it. Their super squishy and durable, they are great to play with and very stress relieving. The only down thing is you can't really glue it to anything like a phone case or iPad case or iPod case or anything like that. I tried with hot glue it doesn't melt the squishy anything like that, it just on sticks after a few seconds. I wish that it would be able to stick onto Stuff like that because it would be really cool to just DIY how many you want on. I haven't tried shoe glue or anything like that because I'm afraid I'll start to dissolve the squishy which wouldn't be good and probably not good for your health. The squishy's do not smell the greatest they don't really smell that good at all actually but everything else about them overrides that flaw. So I would definitely buy this again, it's a great present and very easy because you have multiple of them. I highly suggest this if you're looking for Mochi squishy's.

Aww
Very cute, soft and squishy little things these are. Just keep in mind with these toys is that any kind of debris, hair, dust, etc will stick on the material quite easily. My nephew dropped one on a carpet floor and collected tiny pieces of dirt and whatnot like a snowball rolling on snow. Due to the material, if you try using your fingernails to pick out dirty stuff, you may pinch out the paint as well. The painting on some of the toys had a few mistakes like making one eye too big and other features looking uneven. However, I still adore these mochi toys. They feel great to squeeze and accentuate cuteness wherever you place them. Beware of carpets.

Strongly scented
I am returning this product due to a very strong perfume scent. They smell very strong, even before taking toy out of the package it comes in. My sinuses started acting up as soon as I took them out of the box to look at them. They are very cute and amusing but they also say not for children under 7 and I don't know many older kids that would want to play with something like that. There is also choking hazard pictures all over the box and there's an insert inside the box warning about the toys being a choking hazard for kids and pets, so to me why take the risk for a stinky toy? Mine are going back, won't be purchasing again. Disappointed because I needed them for birthday party favours this weekend.

Defective Batch
Honestly they were cute and intact for the first 10 seconds of the children who I gave them to. Then I noticed the eyes all rubbed off within minutes of the kids squishing them, and despite them only being in their hands, we're filthy within minutes of playing with them. A couple of the kids noticed that they were holes in the squishies that did not appear to be intentional. I wonder if I had a bad batch or if this is standard for these little toys. They looked cute but only lasted a few seconds. I love a refund or a replacement box (if the case is that it was a bad batch). The red flag for me, should have been, immediately when I removed the box from the Amazon packaging, I noticed the box was poorly taped back together.
