FANTASTIC for my 5-year-old!
I cannot explain how happy I am that this book exists! We got a pad of paper a few months back that had similar super simple drawing instructions on the cover (there were only 2 animals) and my son LOVED it. I've been looking for a book like this ever since, and found that most are much more complicated. This book is EXACTLY what we needed, and my son had to show his grandpa his grasshopper today on Facetime he was so excited about it! Things that make this book great:-The steps for each animal are simple and easy to follow-LOTS of space to practice and draw many versions of each animal (my son decided he would draw one on each page so he can go back and add more later when he does it again when he "runs out of pages")-Cute backgrounds that provide opportunity for imagination on the pages-There are a LOT of pages (160) which means lots of things to draw!

3-7 ish year old? Buy this!
Bought this for my first child in preschool and am now buying a second copy for my younger child in kindergarten. So great for confidence and fine motor skills. Both kids never knew what to do when asked to draw a picture. This gives them something to fall back on if creatively fails. Plus it teaches the concept that everything is made if shapes. The practice area helped a lot with my little perfectionist. They are lots of kids friendly shapes, mostly animals and vehicles and they are actually easy and well broken down, which is strangely hard to find. It's a thick book with lots of pages. Highly recommend!

a perfect first drawing book!
This book is much better than I expected. My daughter used to draw nothing other than simple little man. I think she thought drawing needs a lot of skills so she was afraid to try. But this book pushes and inspired her a lot! First, it breaks the animals down into simple shapes and show it step by step. Of course, before drawing, we read the first pages together. We talked about what shapes there are in lions, caterpillars and so on. Second, the book has set background for every animal. It helps kids realize what the whole picture should be like. I think parents need lead them to notice that. My kid likes drawing everyday and tries to create new images.

Hours of drawing fun and success!
This is a winner! I bought this my 5 yo grandson. We are having so much fun and makes success easy. I am chronicling his progress through the book. He colored heavily in marker and it didn’t bleed through to the following page. Hands down my go to book for little friends.

Recommend for children 5 & up
It truly is a great book that teaches children how to draw, although, I would not recommend it for kids younger than 5. Some of the drawings are a little complex. I purchased it for my toddler awhile ago and now that she is 6, she is finally starting to enjoy the book.

Amazing
This is where everyone should start. Other books for kids were ok for my 5 year old, but they all required some help to pick out drawings that were not too difficult and frustrating, and he lost interest pretty quickly after lots of failures. He always wanted to draw the coolest looking things, which were always the hardest ones. 100% of these are fun and easy. All the drawings can actually be completed and look good with only a few steps, whereas some of the other "kid" books are like, "It's just 3 easy steps, draw a circle, then a few lines, and then spend 10 minutes adding lots of intricate detail and shading and you're done!"

Practically Perfect
I struggle with my visual art skills, so this is perfect for me and my 4.5 year old. I love that the shapes that make up the drawings are so simple. The drawings are cute, and there are scenes on every page for you to add your drawings. Plus there are practice pages to rip out in the back of the book. Great find.

Appropriate for 6 and up
I bought this for my daughter last year on her 5th birthday. She liked it, but didn't use it much. She's just started kindergarten (we homeschool) and suddenly she's been drawing in it a lot and getting pretty good at it! So it may be better for 6 and up. I also have a 3 yr old and there's no way she can follow the directions yet. They are fairly simple drawings, but I don't agree with the 3 and up age requirements.
