Not a mixing set. Good paint though.
This LOOKS like a nice beginner mixing set, with cool and warm versions of the primaries, but for some reason they went with Carmine for the cool red rather than Magenta, so it's impossible to mix nice purples. To make up for this they've included a Violet in the set.For beginners there is a better set out there, with Magenta, Cyan and Yellow for mixing. (It's a five-colour set which also includes Black and White.) It doesn't seem to be available on Amazon atm, but maybe will be put up in the future. Anyway, if you're just starting out with Acryla Gouache, you might want to get that set instead.In general though, these are really nice quality paints, smooth velvety texture, even coverage, and moderate-to-good opacity. To be clear, these are ACRYLIC paint with a matte gouache-like finish. They do not reactivate when dry. You need to be quick with them or they will dry on your palette. One option is to use a palette with a damp paper towel on top, and a piece of parchment paper over that, and your paint dabs on top of that; this will help to keep them moist. Have fun!

A tinta é ótima!
Eu fiquei com um pouco de receio de comprar, mas chegou tudo perfeitamente embrulhado. O pacote é pesadinho. A tinta é maravilhosa. Cores vivas e intensas. Possivelmente uma das melhores com que já trabalhei. Pode comprar sem receio.

Vibrancy and finish of gouache, but you can use on canvas
I highly recommend these if you already use gouache and want something that you can use on canvas that has the same vibrancy and matt finishes as gouache. I recommend using these with a stay wet palette or some parchment paper over wet paper towels, though. It dries VERY fast on the palette. I regretfully wasted a good bit in the beginning because I put too much on a plate and much of it dried. This painting was the second one I did with this set, and I really enjoy using them!

Worth the price
I was definitely skeptical about paying this much money for a little paint set. But let me tell you, it is worth the money!! The quality is unmatched from other acrylic paints I've used. I will definitely keep buying this brand. It's very smooth and opaque. Color is wonderful!
