Q: Will these boxes hold the wide (1-7/8" diameter) Robison-Anton embroidery thread spools? The pegs appear from the picture to be too close together.

I think they will fit. The spindles measure to be 1-7/8" apart. I have spools in there that are 1-3/4" wide and there is a little space between them.

Q: Will gutermann thread fit

I don't know about gutterman thread. I keep the isacord 1000m embroidery thread in them. Plus my 1000m mettler spools also fits. If your gutterman thread is comparable to these brands in size, then it should fit.

Q: Will a regular sewing spool of thread will fit on the prongs? looking for thread storage, to be stored with the bobbin on top. height looks ok

No, this storage box is not ideal for that use. With the larger size of regular sewing thread (about 1-3/4" tall), the spindle does not extend above the spool, so you cannot store a bobbin on top of the thread. With the smaller size of regular sewing thread (about 1-1/8" tall), the spindle extends a tiny amount above the spool, but the bobbins that my machine uses do not fit on the spindle; the spindles are too large in diameter.
