Won't melt as easily as the Home Depot ones
Although this is more expensive. I have a massive 240 volt electric garage heater that kept slowly deforming the Home Depot $15 plugs and melting them over the course of a year or so. This one is just allot more heavy duty, with Teflon backplate which can handle more heat. I can finally stop spending $15 every year on a new plug from Home Depot. The main thing you need to do if this is happening is also use a paste that can keep the air from oxidizing the internal connections.UPDATE: Almost 3 yrs in. Plug is perfect. Never gets hot, not even warm.

Versatile plug
While the Leviton brand plug is 2-3 times the price of other brands, it's one of few products that can be assembled with the blades oriented at 0, 90, 180, 270 degrees relative to the cord exit direction. Since you usually want the cord to exit downward from the receptacle and not all receptacles are oriented on the appliance/equipment the same way, this feature is a real benefit.

Not As Described, No Isolated Transparent Internal Wiring Chambers
This is a sturdy, heavy duty plug, but it does not have two features mentioned in the description:Internal Wiring Chambers Isolate Individual Conductors to Prevent Flashover, Arcing, and Excessive Heat Buildup. (There are no internal wiring chambers)Transparent Wiring Chambers Provide a Means of Visual Inspection of Conductors and Terminals ( Again, there are no internal wiring chambers)Transparent internal wiring chambers are featured on some Leviton plugs, but not this one.See photo, the connectors are certainly very large and strong, but are completely open, not individually chambered in clear plastic.

Works for me.
The connections on this are easier and better designed than others I've used. It seem do well at 50 amps unlike others I've used.

Versatile, Well-Made HD Plug
Like the title says... I love the clockability to set the plug to match the orientation of the socket you have. The plug is built heavy, and seems to be well made.

You better be a real electrician to install this
It appears to be pretty well built, but there is absolutely no room in the plug for the wire. This is a 50 amp plug so it takes number 6 gage wire. Sure glad my son the electrician terminated the wires, because my old hands sure would have had an issue.
